Hey guys! I'm looking to get a better water filter system then the usual Brita, something that can filter pharmaceutical residues, agricultural residues, heavy metals, fluorine, etc, that we can find in tap water.

Among the choices I found is Berkey : http://www.berkeywaterfiltercanada.com/Stainless-Steel-Systems-with-Black-Berkey-Filters_c_7.html

They have excellent reviews and some bad that make me hesitate.

There is also Pristine hydro that seems to be the ultimate option in filtration matters : http://www.pristinehydro.com/products/

Excellent reviews but very expensive, so are the replacement filters and need it's own faucet.

I dunno if you guys have given some time into looking for a good systems that remove more then the usual Brita pitcher and have some recommendation ?

Thanks

Eric

I like reverse osmosis, I think it's very good indeed, but what's deflate me about it is it's producing acidic water and leave a few compound pass like nitric acid, sulfuric acid and arsenic. I know I could add alkaline mineral to it... it's an option I'm considering.

Thanks

''Reverse Osmosis systems strip out the beneficial minerals from the water making it an acidic, "hypotonic" solution. A hypotonic solution is a de-mineralized solution. This ultimately has impact on the body because when a hypotonic solution comes in contact with a hypertonic (mineralized) solution, equilibrium is sought. The hypertonic solution in this case is your body's fluids which are full of minerals. Continuous drinking of a hypotonic solution results in minerals being transferred from your body's blood and lymphatic system to this de-mineralized water and being flushed from your body. Over time, in an effort to re-mineralize itself, your body will begin to rob it's organs and bones of these minerals. This continuous cycle will have a negative impact on bodily function unless there is sufficient minerals being taken in through food and supplements to counterbalance.''

Remineralizing Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System

Yeah this is what I'm looking for, pristine hydro is exactly that and I found this also : http://www.radiantlifecatalog.com/product/radiant-life-14-stage-water-purification-system/drinking-water-systems-purification

It's a bit less expensive then Pristine hydro, I saw it via an article by Chris Kresser, it seems pretty complete :

14 Stages of Purification Perfection:

Stage 1 - Five Micron Pre-Filter
Stage 2 - Internal Coconut Shell Carbon Filter
Stage 3 - Reverse Osmosis Membrane (Purifier #1)
Stage 4 - Mixed Bed De-Ionization Purifier (Purifier #2)
Stage 5 - Mixed Bed De-Ionization Purifier (Purifier #3)
Stages 6 & 7 - Homeopathic Restructuring - Erasing Memory, Molecule Coherence
Stage 8 - Holding Tank - standard tank holds about 3 gallons of pure water. Other tanks are available.
Stage 9 - Ultraviolet Light - 14 Watt
Stage 10 - Reprogramming - Adding Natural Mineral Properties
Stages 11-12 - Far-Infrared Reprogramming
Stage 13 - Coconut Shell Carbon Post-Filtration
Stage 14 - Alka-Min (Alkalizing, Ionic Remineralization)

It produce water with a PH of 8 to 9.

Filters replacement does not seems to be too expensive also. My only bug is that you depend on ONE cie in the USA that doesn't seems very big (?), if they close their door, bye bye the system when the filters are done.

If you guys know a cie well established that is offering something similar let me know. I didn't pull the trigger yet because my wife would us to sell the condo to buy a house, 16 y/o kid is making the space smaller.

Add a pinch of sea salt and the water will be perfectly balanced
