I've never really dieted before, always just ate what I thought was fairly clean, I also religiously did my cardio but wondered why I could never lose the weight. Well after 3 weeks of following the Palumbo diet for a 200lb Male I've been blown away at how much weight I've lost. Yes I realize that a lot of it is probably water from cutting the carbs but what I've seen in the mirror shrinking on an almost daily basis has being the extra chub I've been carrying for years around my waistline. I've lost 15lbs in 3 weeks and my strength and energy levels have been surprisingly good. The only hard part about this diet is the eggs. I'm really starting to get sick of them. I've done them scrambled, hard boiled, fried, added spices, hot sauce, the list goes on and on but I'm really at my limit with them. Can I substitute a lean protein meal like chicken plus EVOO for this meal as long as the macros align?
Anyways, I was wondering if a version/variation of this diet would be safe for a woman in their late 50's who's looking to lose weight. My mom is a shorter lady and unfortunately carries most of her weight around her middle. She's been trying for years to lose it for years but hasn't had much luck. That said she's never really done a strict diet (much like me), always just tried to eat healthily and do lots of walking. Other than the 15lbs she'd love to lose she's generally healthy, active and has no health issues other than some knee pain which she strongly believes will improve if she lost some weight.
I was just wondering if any of you had any suggestions for me on a diet that could be a good option for her? I've seen a Palumbo diet for females floating around online but I just can't really see my mom downing 12 egg whites every few mornings lol. I know how happy I've been since I've managed to drop some weight and I'd love nothing more than for my Mom to have the same success so my new goal now is to make that happen :o
There's so much knowledge here I figured it would be a great place to start for some ideas.
Thanks in advance for the input!
