WTF is this shit?

I had to replay it cause I missed him moving (won't say lifting) the platform so I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be watching.

The shit you see in gyms amazes me. I think the leg press is first and foremost in stupidity. We have a mid 40's guy at my gym who comes in and loads about 12 plates a side only to do a six inch rep, which he bangs off the safety latch. Plus the tard takes the thing for 45 minutes while he talks and texts. One day I asked to work in and he had the nerve to tell me that I was bringing the rack down too far and that it was bad for my knees. I was only using 8 a side but use as full a ROM as I can with 43 year old knees. Coincidentally my legs are twice the size of his pins (even after having meniscus surgery last month) and he has never been seen training with shorts. ****ing moron. Fast forward to today and the three young guys who loaded about 12-13 plates a side and did six inch rep drop sets with knee wraps, spotters and using their hands to help push the knee. Took about 45 minutes to finish. All ****ing stick legged tards. They have never been seen squatting. End of rant.

I use the leg press. Properly. As do all the other guys you mention. Coleman didn't do six inch reps like the fools I see , in fact his 30 plates a side set had a good ROM. Where in my post did I say the leg press is useless ?

I guess I took it the wrong way when you said the leg press is first and foremost in stupidity.Apparently rc used some limited rom sets at times.

I tried helping out a kid once (and never again) on the leg press, he was doing exactly what Hosehead just described. So i says to him he should be doing a full ROM. He says whats that and i tell him to look it up when he gets home. The little prick tells me that i don't know what it means either. I just laughed and told him to carry on with his awesome workout.

Surprisingly he did unload the press. I haven't seen the little shit in the gym in a long time, maybe he figures its just not for him since he wasn't making any gains lol.

Edit: did you mean the dude in the vid?

I type kinda like I talk - incomplete sentences. Upon re reading it I see what you mean. I used to hate the leg press but have always appreciated it and I've always used it , now more than ever because of knee surgery. Heavy squatting is a thing of the past for me. RC did use limited ROM in many moves because I think he was so muscle bound there was no room for a full ROM. I believe partials are great now and then but guys with shit builds who just do partials ought to realize it ain't working for them.

You know I'm not too sure leg press is actually any safer than squatting.Youre in a fixed position and you can theoretically move more weight here than you can squatting. At times I've felt more stress in my knees using the leg press.Skailles goes high rep,30.

I agree. Back when I thought it was necessary to lift as heavy as possible , which for me was 12 plates a side , I had a terrible time with my hammies. My knees were actually good at that point. Now I use eight or nine at most and feel the rep more - better negative , more reps and never lock out. I could easily go heavier but I don't think I'd benefit from it. I can only Smith machine squat at this point because of the recent surgery. When I free squat now it doesn't feel quite right when my knee travels over my toes, which happens no matter how far back I sit on my heels. Free squatting for me always seemed safer but not at the moment. With the Smith I can keep the knees behind my toes. Once the knee feels 100% it's back to high reps with 315. 30x315 is my best and it took two Red Bulls and a near heart attack to do it. Skailes is on another planet than me. I think he has gone as high as 8-10 plates for 50. I'd puke at 20 if i could even get that far.

Smith makes sense.Im experimenting with the trap bar only for a month or so,on a 5 or 8 inch platform.

You think your strong...get your weak ass off the leg press load up half that weight on a squat bar and drop into the hole. If you cant squat half of what you have on the leg press your range of motion sucks! I leg pressed 17 plates per side on a 45 degree leg press for 15 reps at my best...I also squatted 8 plates per side on a texas power bar without a suit...wraps and a belt...you want to show off put some weight on your back...lets see!

Paul Anderson used to practice the lock out lift, huge CNS stimulation.Accounts vary between 6800-10,000 as to what he could move.

The most impressive thing about his 'squat' video is the cup cake next to him doing legit squats with 65lbs.

Is this the same guy that had that funny incline bench ? where he was bouncing the weight off his belly ?

Not sure what's going on with his training, maybe people are to scared to tell him or maybe he knows something we don't ??

that was not even a lockout from what I understand a lockout to be. This guy is the biggest moron I have ever seen in my entire life. He should lose his membership for abusing the equipment so unnecessarily. I seriously hope to god this degenerate has no children to carry on this gene of absolute retardation.
