Expiry Date? - Supplements

Hey folks,

Been a bit of time since I was last on here. End of 2011 beginning of 2012 I purchased Body Fortress 100% Premium Whey Protein powder. I had a bunch of containers. The container in question I had used a few times, and it was left in my storage closet at work. It has the date 10/2011 stamped on the bottom.

My question is, would this still be ok to use? It was opened up approximately 10 months I'd say but with the lid on tight.

Would a creatine powder fall under the same circumstance? Use or dont use?

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

I've used old protein and it still worked well. I figure not as effective as it was fresh but why throw away something that will still give you some benefit?

I posed your question to a nutritionist and his reply was if it doesn't smell bad you can probably take it but it will eventually begin to loose nutritional value.
