Hey everyone!

This is my first post and my best friend and I are moving from Manitoba to Calgary in April or beginning of May. I have only been once before and was hoping I could get some advice on what areas of the city to look into for a house rental/short term rental ideally by the month. She is 25, I am 27 and we are looking for a safe neighbourhood, cheaper rent (not sure what that entails) an awesome gym close by , close to some shopping etc. (we will be sharing one car) I'm sorry i'm so vague- I'm just not sure where or what neighbourhood to start looking- also would love bodybuilding friends!!! We only know a few friends there.

Thanks!! xo

Around the University or Kensington might suit you.More young people and close to downtown.

C-Twn is a friendly, fun and styling city. Lots to do and lots of great gyms. Kensington area would prob suit you best as cog had already mentioned. I met 4 people from Manitoba on Wed night at a club that had just moved a few months ago to C-twn actually.

Calgary is ok...We didnt mind it too bad when there....Coming from Manitoba, you may think it is great..I am from MB, That is my home.
Calgary has shit weather, crazy chinooks, shitass drivers that think they can wave the finger at everyone and anyone, unless you show them it is not polite...lol..
Great night life, always stuff to do...
Very transient population, overpriced rent and housing, to say the least, and it is a boom/bust community that flows with the times..
Best city we ever left....

Hey GB, is that Frank da tank Mcgrath pic in ur avi??

Only lived in Calgary for a year but I lived right next to Chinook Mall and it was an awesome area but I have no clue what the area is called lol.

Just watch out for people hitting the C-train and wearing all that ugly ass flames gear YUCK!!! Other than that its a great town.

Sweet! Thanks danger, will google that mall. I've also heard the south is where i should look into as well being single and late 20's and all.
i'll do my best to avoid the flames gear haha ;)

I'm in Southern Calgary and like it here. Leaving for Edmonton soon as I got a better job there.
