Hi everyone,

New poster and member here looking for some opinions on what my bulking diet looks like in terms of my macros and calories. Some background about me, im 22, 5'7", 168lbs. I have been training for about 4 years. I have experimented with cutting and bulking diets in the past. My heaviest was a fat 195lbs and my leanest was 155lbs about 5% BF. I have been sitting around 165-170lbs for the past year and a bit, now im looking to get some size. I work in Northern Ontario and i dont have access to a full gym or a grocery store. When i come up North i bring all of my food to make meals for 16-20 days. See below for my meal plan:

2-Chicken, rice, veg
3-Banana and oatmeal bar
4-Ezekiel w tuna/mayo
5-Chicken, rice, veg
6-Oatmeal w Fruit
7-Iso Protien/BCAA's
8-Chicken, rice, veg
9-Casien Protien w almonds
Supplemtents - Fish Oil x 2 and multi vitamin
260g Protien
370g Carbs
55g Fat
CALORIES - 3000ish

I would suggest much more balanced macro meals...ie protein + fat + carbs.

As an example...chicken + rice + veg...where's the fat? Oatmeal with fruit....protein? fat? ISO protein + BCAA's carbs? fat? Banana and oatmeal bar....fat? protein?

My thought process behind that was that becasue im eating 9 meals a day and that they a spaced so closly together i.e 1.5 - 2 hours i am still getting a balanced marcos within 3-4 hours. What are your thoughts on this approach? and sorry i left out that i put EVOO on the chicken rice meal. also i was wondering if ishould try and up the cals or if 3000 would be enough of a surplus to still make gains.

No one is going to be able to answer that question. It's as simple as if you aren't gaining then you aren't eating enough. So try your plan....if you don't gain then add more food.

If you are truly trying to gain maximum muscle you should NEVER be hungry. For optimal muscle gains you eat by the clock never by appetite. f you are hungry you have already missed your window of opportunity.

I think you have the right idea here. Struturing meal plan that works within your surroundings and ability to intake.
I am with Praetorian however that you NEED to add fat in there.

Thanks for all the adivse. So the additions i made are the EVOO to the chicken meals which i already stated. plus i am now eating my banana post workout with my ISO shake and i added a handful of almonds or PB to the oatmeal. the oatmeal bar is now with my last shake and almonds.
