Yes unfortunately this is not a joke, wrestling which is one of the main sports of Olympics took out and we didn't even know what the ****ing reason that allowed them to take out wrestling and add golf instead. I think the Olympic committee must be fired somehow after this ****ing decision. They are killing the Olympics someone should tell them the meaning of Olympic Spirit it's not all about money and advertising.

Is this 100% now ? I thought they still had to vote on it. If it hasn't passed I'm sure if enough people make a big deal then they will keep it.

Wrestling is one of the first events it should stay !

Not only should wrestling stay , but MMA should be added. Maybe they plan on replacing wrestling for MMA - ??? Maybe Not ???

To me the Olympics is about sports that relate to survival and the ancient ways man use to go about daily life and prove their "worth"... sprinting and track events (running away from danger), marathon (long distance to deliver messages etc), javelin, discus, shotput, hammer throw (spearing, harming prey), high jump and long jump (leaping barriers and dangers), swimming (self explanatory), equestrian (skilled horsemanship to hunt and transport goods), fencing, archery, shooting, canoeing and kayaking (water/river skills), gymnastics (overall body strength, agility and speed) and of course all wrestling and martial arts and weightlifting categories.
The fact that wrestling has been part of the games since the 1896 and part of history for thousands of years is a testament to its importance to humanity.
Though I respect ALL athletes for their dedication to their chosen discipline I do not think it is correct to get rid of wrestling.

Why not get rid of race walking? really? you're walking away from danger as fast as you can?? come on now!
Or the overpriced, overhyped pro athletes that are allowed to take part...

Even as a woman I can't stand watching synchronized swimming or rhythmic gymnastics.... maybe it's because they all look so disturbing with the over done makeup and hair..... and NO ONE looks good in nose plug... no one!!

This is not firm. It goes to a vote in August I believe and will probably not be ratified then. What people dont understand is that sport governing bodies such as wrestling or track and field etc have to lobby the IOC in order to remain withing the IOC's list of sports in each Olympics. One sport was going to be dropped in 2020 and most people thought t would be the natural pentathlon so the wrestling federation didnt bother lobbying. As it turns out because there was no lobby it was put up for removal. What most likely will happen is much political rhetoric from now until August and then the vote will reinstate wrestling.

WTF? That this could even come to a vote is obscene. They probably need room for bowling and darts.

wrestling is fake. :)

In the past decade, our world has moved so far to the left, that you virtually have to tip toe through the tulips with everything you say or do. Human rights tribunals, socialist agendas, and anti gun crusades all reek of a feminized world where the orchestrators dream of broken traditions, a godless world, rainbows, unicorns and all things that are fluffy.

wrestling is the ultimate contest. man vs man in a pit or ring, and there can only be one winner.

wrestling does not fit into the new world order. neither do muscles.

All things being equal the IOC needs revamping as they are not about sport so much anymore and instead appear to only be about money and politics....Oh and pro athlete's need to go. The Olympics are amateur athletics and if a person turned pro then sorry you're no longer an amateur.....
