Yeah I don't think many people here go for protein bars, they are filled with soya, modified/hydrogenated fats, sugar and other crap.

Protein Powders most of the time but will drink an RTD when stuck. I never eat any bars.
I think some of the protein drinks were the worst.

Powder mainly, though I do like Quest bars.

I was looking for a healthy protein bar so seeing as most prefer powder, I made a bar using another recipe on here but made a few changes to suit the ingredients i had on hand. Assuming the numbers I calculated are correct (took totals from nutrition facts on back of containers and divided by number of bars (5 @ 52g each)) what do you all think?
Original recipe by Diverguy.
2 scoop protein powder (chocolate)
4 tbsp cocoa
4 tbsp adams peanut butter
1/4 cup almond flour
1/2 cup shreaded unsweetened coconut
1 tbsp coconut oil
blend dry first
add coconut oil and PB
mix for a while, add tiny bit water
form on pan and freeze
366 cals
25.5g fat
10g carbs 7.3g fiber(2.7 net)
27g protein
I made a few changes:
4 tbsp almond butter (was out of natty pb)
1/3 cup coconut flour
1 tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup milled flax.
nice and thick/chewey
here are the stats (i got 5 bars @ 52 g each)
279 cal, 14g carb, 2.4g sugar, 14g fat, 10g fiber, 15g protein / bar.

Either make your own or use protein powder...stay away from commercially manufactured bars.

PAgreed on this as well. I would only have a bar if I was stuck and needed something ASAP but if you're smart with your nutrient timing then this shouldn't be a factor. All in all whey protein (powder) will always be the best choice.

I agree, I make my own bars and not only do they taste great, but I know what I put in them (not crap LOL) and for the money well worth the time!

It's easy to write what you want on a nutritional label until someone checks you out:
http://www.leanitup.com/report-makers-quest-bars-sued-mislabeling-allegedly-overstated-fiber-750/
Quest bars sued for mislabeling for overstated their fiber content by anywhere from 50% to 10x the actual amount, also calories are understated by at least 20%.
