A few months ago i hurt my back shoveling snow and was bed ridden and bored surfing the internet. I found stronglifts.com and it peaked my interest in power-lifting. I have worked out lots in the past but it was high rep isolation exercises and i found that those types of workouts didn't really translate into real world strength for me. I'm 26 years old, 188cm and around 100kg and way too weak for my size (i think anyways). I think power-lifting will help me a lot with pain issues and i like the idea of being really strong. so I'm wondering about gyms down south Calgary or Okotoks that would be a good place to work out at. I've heard about Remington's and pro bodies but driving that far after work during rush hour would be a nightmare. I've also heard about some Greg's gym in Okotoks but i cant find any mention of it in Google so I'm at a loss. any suggestions would be awesome and I'm grateful for any help.

I'm in the same boat, I've started the Stronglifts program after years of seeing minimal strength gains on isolation routines. If I continue at my current gym I'm going to end up being limited by their lack of equipment. Does Gagne allow the use of chalk? I'm not doing big lifts right now but my plan is to be able to keep moving upwards.

I am a powerlifter (depending on my mood, lol) and I train at Anytime Fitness in Haysboro on Elbow Drive. Good gym, small and fairly quiet. Not a lot of muscle heads with god complexes like Gold's.
