Hey all,

Lurked the forums long enough, time to say 'Hi'.

I'm 47, 6ft tall, 245lbs and am not gonna guess at my bf% other than to say I don't like what the mirror shows me, nor do I like how I feel anymore. Want to get to about 185-190lbs by 1 July. This is not a New Year's resolution, this is get the job done whatever it takes attitude and life style change. I started keto this week (my gut loves keto as I have been on it before) and am planning to hit the gym 5 days a week (M-T, Th-Sat) with 20 min of cardio before breakfast (will increase weekly).

Is a 60lb loss of weight by 1 July realistic? Ultimately, I will know when to stop losing when my clothes fit the way I want them to.... thinking this is at about 185lbs.

Hey welcome to CBB. Yes it's possible to lose that much by then but it won't be easy

Has belly girth been increasing Eclipse?

I have definitely allowed middle-aged spread to take me over. Too much wine, women and song. My waist will actually be my biggest barometer. I currently have a 40 inch waist (OMG) but will get back to a 34-36.

Wine women and song eh ? Sex drugs and rock and roll ? That sounds like a lot of girth to shed dude. All the best getting there.

Welcome to CBB. You can lose that weight with good support and guidance. I've lost 45lbs since May 1st,2012. Patience, perseverance, and a clear vision of your goal will get you there. Goog luck.

The spread can be a symptom.

I agree. A symptom of needing to get my arse off the couch, and stop putting crap into my body.

I always said that I would not fall into the trap of getting lazy and fat. Time to stop allowing myself to think of being a victim of aging and get back to work. Nuff said.

Down 5 pounds so far this week (I know... water weight) and feeling good. The weekend will be the test.
