I want to ask if anybody else has had this same problem. I recently went to the doc and he told me i have been overusing the tendon in my elbow, and there is really no way to fix this then to stop training. It kept getting extremely hard to do tricep movements without it bothering me so i had to keep things light, it eventually started bothering me on chest days. Now the question is, has anybody else had this problem? and what are some ways to fix this? Ive used lots of warmups, a compression band for my elbow and anti-inflamatories. Just seeing if there is anything else.

I had a wicked time with elbow pain, a few years back. What I did was figure out which exercise was causing the problem. For me, it was headcavers, and no matter how I changed my grip or tried to adjust the way I performed the exercise, it would always flare up. I finally managed to get rid of the pain by cutting out headcavers (even though I loved doing them), wearing a compression band, and taking some anti-inflammatories (whenever I felt a little tender), and within a month the pain had completely subsided. I still have the urge to do those headcavers but remind myself of the pain and find something else to do.

I just had this...ice after work-outs, and add rub-a-535 first thing in the morning will do wonders.

Yeah, just relax on what cause the pain and do some exercises that are easy on it. Stretching after training 'might' help.

Headcavers....apparently called elbow wreckers in the fifties and early sixties.

Thanks for the help, docs tried giving me a cortizone shot, definately didnt take that seeing it really has no benefits other then subsiding inflamation, thanks for the help though ill try staying away from those movements, now if most tricep movements cause pain, what are some new movements that would put less stress on the elbows?

You might need to stick to something strict and lighter for awhile, those seated machine extensions ?

the motions that kill me are skullcrushers, even going light, because when doing the full movement, the bottom of the movement aggrivates it, behind the head tricep extensions are awful, and even cable pushdowns if not trying to push it to much. So ive been doing high rep lighter weight and more sets to try not halt the growth in the tris

With the skullcrushers it's the spreading of the elbows that causes the problem, using DBS strict might help but I would avoid for awhile.A strict one handed thumbs up cable press down with your arm at your side might be better. Some injuries you just gotta give time....sometime.

What works for me are dumbell kickbacks, close grip bench, like cog said, those seated machine extensions and cable pressdowns but I stop when my arm is at a 45 degree angle and then really squeeze my tri's at the bottom part of the movement.
