hey p was wondering what you thought of doing back day on an empty stomach? more so about deads, I seem to be fine doing warm-ups but as soon as I hit 3 plates feels like i'm guna yak. wondering if it's because I usually go a an hour or 2 after super?

I would never train any body part on an empty stomach. I would have a decent meal but give yourself time to fully digest before training...that may take up to 1.5 hrs. I always give myself 1 to 1.5 hrs to digest as you want the blood to be in the muscle when training not in your gut.

I agree with Praetorian on this as well. Sure for cardio you can do it without eating and in a fasted state or with some BCAAs, but when it comes to lifting them you'll need to have at least a protein shake with some added fats/EFAs or you'll burn out pretty quick. And hell on back day (second largest muscle group) it requires loads of energy to get through so follow the advice above....

ya, I always eat supper before I hit the gym, and never have a problem with anything except for deads, I'll try waiting a little longer, or maybe smaller meal before with larger one after my pwo shake

Make sure to get enough rest between sets. Wait until your breathing is back to normal before your next set.
