They "attempted delivery" of my CP.com order yesterday by not knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell. My roommate was home all day and actually has a bedroom that one can see straight through to if one even bothered to look through the front door window.

I have actually caught these pieces of shit before walking up with the attempted delivery slip in their hand, barely waiting 5 seconds and just bailing asap.

Never have I seen such blatant disregard for following such a simple task in my entire life. These ****s make how much a year?

I truly hope that my carrier dies of ghonorrea and rots in hell. Would you like a cookie son?

any box bigger than what fits in the mailbox will never make it to my door. They leave the attempted deliver slip in my mailbox down the street.

Is there a policy? I mean, I don't care either way, but they should do what they are supposed to do. In Ottawa they almost always rang the doorbell and handed us the package. here I don't think they've ever actually delivered it. At least the new guy doesnt

One of the perks of condo living, they have to buzz in to even drop off the "attempt to deliver" slip on my mailbox

UPS are far worse. A few years ago the assholes left a Marshall amplifier in my driveway in the pouring rain. It was late March and snow was still on the ground. So I callled to bitch and the woman told me that because of the weight of the item he couldn't get it back on the truck ?!! Why take it off then ? Then a few months later they stick a wah wah pedal half sticking out of my mailbox in the rain. Evere heard of taking it back to the shop ? I'd NEVER use UPS for mailing a turd. MY CP protein package was at the closest Shopper's Drug Mart when I wasn't home to receive it. Nice and dry. Never had a problem with Canada Post.

My CP guy rings the bell...but if I'm not home he doesn't leave a slip he just leaves the parcel leaning against the door...and i am right on the street two feet from the sidewalk....idiots.

My front door is nice and hidden. This is why I requested the safe drop. I wish this lazy piece of shit would just safe drop it. My roommate was home all day and would easily hear a door knock or doorbell ring.

They dont even try, its pathetic.

Ok... now I agree. Canada Post does suck. Ordered something off ebay, got tracking info from the seller. Expected delivery today... My tracking updated this morning to say a notice was left (attempted delivery). I know already that that simply means they left a card in my mailbox, since obviously there was no attempt when people were home all day.

So, I went to my mailbox just now to get the card to bring to canada post for pickup. no card in mailbox. interesting... So I call them up to see if my package is there. long story about the phone call, but eventually I learn they don't have it. I ask who to call...they give me a number for the main office in my area. I call it, and who answers? A residential address who says that they've been getting these calls for years, but that they are NOT canada post. weird....

hopefully this is some sort of new years eve glitch. Probably lost my package otherwise

^^ thats pretty unreal, but very believable. This business should be privatized and run efficiently.

The story of my life with CP...We live out of town quite far, they cannot screw it up, you would think...Anytime i get any parcel whatsoever, never on time, never is it delivered..
I got a shipment from ups, and purolator etc...All on time, and early most times...

In the end, I got my package. Was marked Dec 31st, so my guess is the delivery guy took the day off delivering packages, but still went ahead and scanned everything in for tracking info. The pickup wasn't without a hitch though. Took them over 5 minutes to find it all the while a huge line-up of angry customers started building. They brought it back, and my other package (I was picking up 2) they said they couldn't find. I said, look again, you told me on the phone yesterday it was here... So 5 more minutes, they came back with it. Doesn't sound like a long time, but 5-10 minutes passes by pretty slow when all they need to do is find a box with giant numbers on it! By the time I left there was over 15 people behind me, not counting the ones that left out of frustration.

Up until moving here though, I hadn't had any problems with CP... DHL, purolator, and UPS on the other hand, nothing but good things to say! Always to my door ringing the doorbell and waiting to answer it.

^^ imagine that. A privatized company that functions efficiently and with high levels of customer service....hmmm.....

Trust me when I say in all my years in business most private companies DO NOT function efficiently with high levels of customer service. Certainly not large companies.

Try getting into the upper levels of management or being a strategic consultant to The C suite and you'll quickly realize these companies are just as ****ed up as some of the publically run ones.

So true. I work for the #1 snack food company in the world and the management is a revolving door for recent grads who think they're going to change the world. They last just long enough to screw everything up and then get promoted to their next position within the company. It really is ridiculous and unbelievable in what we see on a day- to- day basis.

I completely agree with this statement. Youre absolutely right for the most part. The exception is freight companies though. These companies are always fighting for your business and will bend over backwards to accommodate customers. I worked for years in this industry and I can speak from experience that a privatized freight company will ALWAYS be more efficient than CP.

I was watching Top Gear last weekend and they were in India. There is a huge network of people that deliver hot lunches every day. They said that they only make 1 mistake for every 6 million deliveries and the service only costs the equivalent of 2 British pounds per month.
