So, generally on my meal plan because of my love for bread i cut out the carbs in breakfast. I mean my breakfast is generally 2 eggs and a serving of chicken fried into the eggs. It tastes great, leaves me with room for carbs later on. But i do my cardio after this. I do 15 mins of intense cardio by beating the hell out of a standing punching bag. Makes the day less frustrating builds a sweat makes me happier with my eating habits but I am aware that intense uses carbs for fuel, what happens if I didn't eat carbs in the meal before. Obviously there's few carbs in my meal but not very many. So is this going to effect my muscle gain negatively? Or will it simply use sources from the day before? I am in the cutting phase if that matters what so ever. Thanks guys.

If you didnt eat carbs before your body would use existing glycogen sources. 15 minutes is not long and youd have plenty of glycogen even if you didnt eat carbs immediately before. You would have to go 3 full days with no carbs to deplete all glycogen stores in the muscle and the liver.

Personally, I require carbs before any type of work out. Whether its jogging, working out, or moving furniture.
I tested this by my lunch hour run. I did it once before having my lunch, and after 45 mins of my jog. I had an sensational craving for SUGAR. It lasted for 3 days because i resisted eating any type of sugary snack. But man, it did a number on my will power.
So now i eat my lunch (carb loaded) and then hit the trails, i have a lot less urge to binge on junk food after...

Thoughts?

That's all psychological...you don't need carbs before physical activity especially if you are eating them in other meals....your body can store ample amounts of glycogen...as i said before three full days worth. If what you said was true the human species would have ceased to exist eons ago as all we did in early time was run after food etc. Your craving for sugar is a reaction to an allergen...ie sugar itself. Many people have a difficult time in letting go of carbs because it is ingrained in them that they need to load up before doing anything physically. Its a mindset that you need to get over...as Morpheus said "free your mind"

PVery well said! I myself keep carbs low no matter what time of year it is (off season or pre-contest) as I found many years ago that carbs were highly counter productive for me and my energy levels and I found that protein and fats were the best for my needs. And many of my clients once they got over the craving's for carbs found they did much better on low a low carb nutritional plan.

As I've said so many times carbs are at best a supplement and not an essential macro.
