Last January I tore my meniscus. Had a MRI in March. Took until October to see a surgeon. Had my surgery scheduled for December 7th and this morning I got a call saying it has been postponed to a later date. Seems the hospital, not the surgeon, wants to use the available O.R. time for someone else. **** someone else ! Probably some morbidly obese twat who won't do their rehab anyway. My ****ing mother in law was prioritized high because she needed a knee replacement. She's 250 lbs and sedentary anyway. ****ing system blows. I looked into getting it done outside of Canada. Cheapest I could find was Ciudad Juarez in Mexico. Highest murder rate in the world but it's only $3900 bucks lol. Tiajuana is slightly more expensive.
Guess I'm going to give PRP a try and do as much pre op rehab as my knee will allow.
****ing system doesn't allow for elective surgeries on weekends. Bullshit.

Maybe the system recognizes you as a dickwad and postponed just to jerk you around and teach you a lesson?
From first consultation I had my surgery in less than 4 months and that included 3 specialists visits 2 sets of MRI's on each knee and x-rays.

I tore mine playing ball on the May 2-4 weekend in 2007. Had surgery June 9th - which was preceded by xrays and an MRI. It can be done.
Had a subsequent surgery on the same knee a couple of years ago now - that took more time, but I was in infinitely less pain than I was the 1st time.

I had 3 meniscus tears and 2 other tears in my right knee. I went to the sports injury clinic who scheduled an MRI (3 months later), then a consultation with surgeon (3 months later) then the surgery (another 4 months later). By the time the surgery came around, the knee wasn't even hurting anymore lol.

I think much of it depends on the area in which you live. Where I am it is not uncommon to wait 8 months for elective surgery. I was talking to a girl the other day who lives in a remote town in Alberta and she only waited a month after seeing the surgeon. I doubt the system knows I'm a dickwad but if they continue to **** me over I will be.
I never had any luck getting any serious care here in Alberta Hosehead.Once for a biceps tear and again for a shoulder separation.

That may be why, although luck sometrimes factors in to it I'm sure.

No, pretty sure I'm gonna die. I just found out a friend had his surgery cancelled as well. Same surgeon and same hospital. I am wondering if he's pissed the hospital off. I really don't know how it works other than some cases are a higher priority.
