Hey guys, lately I have been eating about 4 eggs a day. However I recently noticed that they have an extremely high cholesterol content. Just wanted to know what your views were on them.

As long as you are doing some type of exercise and take some Omega fats, you should be fine.

Most bodybuilder take 6 of them per day, some even more. What is more dangerous then cholesterol would be the sugar and high carb diet, this make the damage into endothelium and force the body to produce more LDL to repair the damage. A good nutrition and training regularly will keep your HDL high, which is very important and eating low carbs/sugars (also no wheat) will keep your LDL/triglyceride low. Cholesterol is needed to produce hormones, healthy brain activity and many others important function in the body.

I would try to get free-range, pasture eggs though (organic farmer's market is a good place to find some). Cause regular eggs are from caged, corn fed, hormone/antibiotic fed and has much lower nutritional value, as often they have to add artificial color in their food to turn the yolk yellow as their is too low Omega 3 in the eggs to make it yellow (Omega 3 make the yellow color in the yolk).

It's of no concern when eating quality eggs, I prefer organic free range omega 3 eggs, I eat 6/10 a day.

Concerns regarding dietary cholesterol are blown way out of proportion. Eric means well so I won't correct his mistakes...I've discussed eggs with PHd's who specialize in poultry and egg production...but honestly who gives a shit. Eat your eggs.

Blood cholesterol levels are not directly related to cholesterol intake from food. If you are concerned about cholesterol...in essence heart disease is most likely what you mean...then eliminate sugar and all processed carbs from your diet.

PWell said, and I used to eat 24 whole eggs a day. This was back in the day when protein powder was total crap so eggs were the best protein source, and my cholesterol was always fine. I still enjoy my eggs but whey protein has a better BV than eggs and of course eggs are still a great source of quality protein I just don't eat as many now.

I just never got into eggs. I ended up making 2 over-easy eggs last night with my ground beef.. pretty tasty!
Best before November 10 as well!
