View Full Version : Barbecue and fat
If I had hamburger patties that had 18g protien and 18g fat per patty, and I cooked them on the BBQ until well done; how much fat would be left in the patty?

Its one of those tricky Durk wants to justify eaty bad food questions. I figure that with all of the grease that leaks out of something while BBQing; I think that there would be a significant reduction in fat, no?

A rough guess, I would say you eliminate 50% of the fat content, but then again everything that is a pure guess. Thats what I think cause a lot of fat does drip down, which causes the flare ups in the bbq... Cause only the fat will do that.
But if your going to eat it then eat it or cook it as ground beef in a pan, drain and rinse with water.

I know the answer to this.....quit buying cheap burger and you won't have the fat issues and the protein content will be higher as well....oh and you won't have to worry about a random flame taking out your eyebrows either....LOL!!!
