Hey there,
New here, Saw other posts looking for trainers/coaches so I figured I would put mine up here. My name is Mack, I am 27 years old and an ex serving member of the Army, I have been lifting weights/counting calories for the last few years and have recently gained some interest in getting into bodybuilding, I have always been competitive in my life whether it be in hockey or football and now since those are both pretty much done for me now, I figure I could do it on the stage and with my muscles!

Really looking to speak with somebody who has 'been there, done that' in Victoria (or area) who could give me some tips/info/coaching as I would love to find out more about breaking into the bodybuilding scene!

Hope to hear back soon

Cheers,

Mack

Agree. You want a no BS coach who knows what he is talking about and can give you the guidance you need, no matter what the goal, he is just up the road in Nanaimo

True, there is so many 'trainer' there days, as many as there is Tim Horton's employees and the funny thing is that you could probably switch them out with no big difference.

Lately I saw 3 different trainers that were training in my gym...

-The first one, was doing chin-ups, he did almost 3 on it's own bodyweight, not without a lot of leg kicking... that was his max.
-The second, he was doing bench press with 95lbs, almost got stuck under the bar with arms shaking and he was not even doing high reps series...
-The third one, well he was doing curls with 40lbs and needed to use the front delts and some backward leaning to get the bar up...

No joke. It's like in the bible when they says 'the blind leading the blind'. Where are the days when you needed to be actually good at what you are doing to be hired ? I mean are they serious with those weekend certification ?

Almost everyday that I work out I help someone in need freely and even help some trainers as they know f@ckall about doing their jobs.

Fortunately there is some good people here.

EricYa we've got more than a couple of trainers that are very similar to what you are describing, and like you I have no issue answering questions and helping out a member in need. The 3 day wonder course....I couldn't do it....I'm sure I would end up giving the instructor shit for something they did or said...

Oh and a really good trainer/coach ain't gonna be too over the top expensive but at the same time you get what you pay for, so someone who really knows their shit ain't gonna be cheap either.
