That stoppage with Vera was a little quick IMO, the same ref from the kimbo fight where he took 1 gazillion elbows to the head then he stops this one when Vera was telling him he was fine. ****in horse shit.

Was a rather boring UFC. Matt should hang em up. He's passed his prime and it's all downhill from here.

i don't know what board, but i swear monka predicted Matt for this year to be his worst. Seems the way Penn handled him till he hurt himself, and gsp dominated him and now this? Yes, i think he should quit before he gets hurt from the more improved fighter are coming out with just more talent. I didn't see matt as any threat to him at all even when he was on bottom, hang it up matt, only thing to do , unless he fights no name guys in under cards?

That must have been Mark Hughes ;)

Alves completely destroyed him, congrats to Thiago. Let's just hope he can make weight when he gets a title fight :)

I don't think Matt has to be done, but he would have to work on adding more skills...it is pretty easy to train for a guy you know is only looking to go to the ground. Matt maybe too old to start changing his style though.

Yes this what he should have did years ago his stand up skills kick boxing or Muay.

I dont think he is past his prime, shit he is only 33-34 or something like that. He just has not evolved like some of the other guys.

He even said in the post fight conference " I dont know what to say about how good these younger guys are, I am talking about GSP and Thiago."

Though, I am not a fan of that ref, the stoppage seemed good to me. From what I counted, it was about 48 unanswered/undefended punches to his head and face from the mounted position. It doesn't matter how tough you are or how much punishment you can take. If you don't/can't defend yourself, you're goona lose.
