I have a great supplier for my grass-fed beef locally! But it's nice to have more variety of wild meat. Problem is it's expensive, so I found a meat supplier (for stores, hotels & restaurant) and called him, told him I would like to buy directly from him. He said he don't sell to customers, but I told him that I eat a lot of it and I would buy like them, in bulk, so he agreed to sell me. Finally he said he could deliver for 300$ + order whenever I want.

I bought for 500$ of Organic chicken breast, Venison, bison, horse...

It's still expensive but not as much as the specialized stores.

I can cut my own stuff in the perfect portion for me.

Here is a few pics of the pastured Venison from New Zealand, doesn't it look great and tasty ?? Miam!

BTW venison is 30% pro vs 25% pro for beef! :)

So why wouldn't you post up where you got it so others could gain from this find and if they mention who told them then you might be able to get better pricing for yourself.

That looks incredibly good and fresh!!!!!

Lots of prep work though. I'd like to do that some day when I have more kitchen and freezer space.

prices in town:
Chicken $1.11/100g
top sirloin: $1.33/100g
ground turkey: $1.00/100g
fish: $2.25/100g

That is, price is far from being better then costco or else, because I'm buying all organic/bio, no hormones, no antibiotics is important to me and familly. So price are much better from the distributor, but it's far from comparable to cage chicken on juice.

I paid 27$/kg for chicken breast. My local store sell it for 40$/kg for the same.

For the New Zealand Venison I paid 41$/kg. Local store, I think it's around 60$.

Nate, far from me the intention to keep the info for me alone, but I won't post his info on a forum, guy is not a public business and made me know that he's a busy guy. Anyone in the Ottawa/Gatineau region that is serious is welcome to PM me for info, it's true that we might get better price if we group to buy together.

Wildo, it's not very long to prepare, you just need a knife, a scale and some containers for the freezer. I also only have the small freezer from the fridge, but I'm a pro at organization LOL. I just bought 100$ of wild blueberry also to have them for a while in the freezer, with some wild salmon from the Fraiser river. It's pretty tight actually.

And yeah it does look incredibly good, for me it's more appealing then a cake or a pizza!!

Yeah, venison was 219$ for 12lbs. Still it's a better price then what we see in store. And it's so awesome to eat, so tender and tasteful.

Considering hunting since a few year though.

Great stuff.

I find it crazy how expensive and gross the grocery store is. Last time I got 1/2 cow (400 lbs)for $300 cut and packaged how I wanted it. Locally grown and grass feed :)

Look what one farmer is doing in the USA http://www.takepart.com/article/2012/08/23/candy-cows-one-ranchers-drought-desperate-solution

Holy crappola, thats pricey, but It is a whole lot healthier for sure...Good on ya for looking out for the family!! It is a lesson they will carry with them, My parents did the same for us..

Living on Vancouver island has cut our groceries big time...

wild salmon, self caught..Sockeye just finishing a run, spring salmon all over the damn place..They run here basically yr round..
Halibut, about to be caught...lol...Just getting into this now..
Organic free range eggs, buddy sells them, 3.00 per dozen, large and great
crabs, prawns...self caught and damn delicious....
Chicken and beef, local grown, organic, free range, again, buddies have and give a great deal, ...

Lots of tree huggers here, so organic, free range no hormones is very common...
Hunting is not great here, i am a hunter, but a trip to mainland can be quite bountiful in the fall...

organic pot, also abundant....lololol

IW, you sure seems to be pretty set-up where you are, that's great! I'm fairly new in Ottawa's region, so I'm still trying to get set-up. If I could find a way to keep this quality and reduce the cost even more I would be glad, so far it's where I am.

@Talo, this is insane, .75$/lbs, I thought I had a good price! Are you sure though it's 400lbs ?? I mean, my farmer sell 1/2 young beef too, and it's like 100-125lbs!

And the link you posted is complete non-sense, I mean WTF they are thinking!!

I am admiring the fact you guys build muscles off of the meat you guys either hunt, or source from organic markets. You guys are the hipsters of body building hahaha
I still buy everything from the store!
