Just wanted to offer some advice / hindsight , I was an avid Bodybuilder in my youth and had the chance to compete in a BB show for Canadian Military personel ( I was Army -- Infantry baby ! ) when I was 23 and never did , I instead let the insecurities and vanity of a young man stop me from stepping on stage and have regretted it ever since . Now fast forward 20 years and guess who is prepping for his first show ( Sandra Wickham Classic ) at 44 years old -- I basically took my 30's off and let life and responsibilities get the better of me instead of continuing to work out and deal with lifes issues as they come.

So that being said -- nice to be here on this board and look forward to getting some advice / guidance in regards to my show and if you want something go for it.....

Welcome and congrats!

I can relate to your story, but in my case I had a good friend and without him I would have not competed in my youth, I almost died 4 months before contest and lost 30 lbs, I was gonna quit and my friend didn't let me go. I'm really really glad I did it, but obviously I was not at the top of my shape, so it left me with a bit of regret that I couldn't have competed at my best. I have barely not train either in my 30's. Now I'm 41 and want to go back eventually with the old timer.

Better late than never!

This is a lifestyle and all that accompany's competing should be implemented into your daily routine. IE, eating properly, exercising consistently and supplementing properly.

Take time to enjoy the important things in life even as you focus on this new goal. :greet

In my 40s as well and feel/look better than i did in my 20s....The best is yet to come punchy....One thing about this sport, we can still improve for many a year to come...
