I never tried l-carnitine but have heard a lot of people using it in pre workout shakes. Is it any good for energy? I'm not too concerned with the fat loss properties.
My preworkout shake is gonna be;
5g bcaa, 5g creatine, 5g beta alanine, 5g l-carnitine, 5g tyrosine, 30g maltodextrin, 500mg green tea ex., 200mg caffiene.

Thanks for the help

Is this because the mobilization is so small Prae?Is this stuff worthwhile on a steady basis while dieting?

Thanks for the help 5grams of alcar will cause gastric dumping. I would not recommend more than 2grams unless you really like spending time on the sh**ter.

My fiance has had greater fat loss using l-carnitine than on stimulant based fat burners. Both were combined with light cardio and very low carb diets.

How frequently did she use this during the day?

yes acetyl-L-carnitine

Ok, cause from the NCBI studies, acetyl-L-carnitine hasn't really ever been shown to be effective at breakdown of fatty acids within the mitochondria, however, L-carnitine L-tartrate by far has the most positive research in this regard.

No it increases energy production meaning the body burns more calories...it doesnt impart energy or stimulate like caffeine.

I was reading an article on Dats forum last night,apparently diabetics have a serious lack of this.

Love the L-Carnitine in the pre-workout shake idea for staying lean while you bulk up a bit, but 5grams is way too much bro. Stick to 1.5-2 grams. :)

5g of L-Carn will provide 20 cals. There's your energy.
