I was on facebook afriend was asking for healthy food choices to lose some excess weight. I suggested some foods among them eggs. Another friend of hers says eggs are not healthy and also went on to suggest she eats bread. These are the people that just annoy the crap out of me. They refuse actual knowledge and suggest that because they lost weight they know everything. As Peter Griffin would say "this grinds my gears". LOL

Had to vent a little with people that would understand. now off to do a leg workout :)

Now mind you I'm not an expert on nutrition but I know enough to offer some general advice.

Leg workouts are not healthy. Especially squats. You will hurt your back and knees and will probably be in a wheel chair by the time you are fifty. Spin classes are the best way to train your legs. And yes, eat more bread like that girl told you to you idiot.

Hopefully the eggs are the free range variety.Cant stand those modified omega 3 eggs.

As for the squats....actually I think there are a whole lot of people that should maybe use the scalability of the TRX to at least get their bodies accustomed to movements first, because they have frightfully little history of using their muscles at all.

Its one thing to not know bread is unhealthy apparently it is not mainsteam knowledge. But to say eggs are bad for you?

I don't know why someone would say eggs are unhealthy. Maybe this person is afraid of fats? or cholestrol? obviously with a little research she could have known niether of those is really a concern. It was a major facepalm moment.

It's old school nonsense that keeps getting repeated.I keep hearing from my wife what her doctor has to say about things I tell her. They collect their cheques and go home.No need to keep up to date. The union protects them.

Yeah people are brainwashed from years of TV and school telling them cholesterol and eggs are bad. Now that the research shows this no to be the case the myth still seems to be common knowledge.

My girlfriend is 130 lbs and eats 6 whole eggs per day. A recent blood test showed her cholesterol was normal.

don't put too much thought into it....she hasn't done any research...that's why she thinks eggs are bad and bread is good.

The egg thing i do believe if they are penned hens laying eggs full of hormones and other such expediters for fast laying production hens, they really are not healthy, thin shelled flat yolks, pale as hell...Looks like an abomination, lacking in essential fats etc.....
Free run eggs are the healthy choice , and i have had them in my diet since a kid in high amounts...We were farmers, and not rich ones, organic whole milk, free run eggs, free range beef has been a staple for me, raised by ourselves...As you do now (lucky bugger), and My bloodwork has always been terrific, as is my family, so i was lucky enough to not hear the bad news about eggs often....
Living in the bush and only having 3 channels if i turned the antennae correct, and it wasnt to windy, had its advantages...lol

^^^ this exactly. The large majority of people don't realize this is a myth. I got in a debate about eggs and the bread issue at a wedding recently. But the person I was talking to was a 'personal trainer' so she ofcourse had to be right because they know everything....

I wouldnt say bread is bad....Thats a very broad topic....ezekiel bread for instance is not bad, Use and abuse and timing is what makes it bad or not bad IMO...

The one summer we had our own laying hens and pastured them. Since then we have been buying them at the farmers market. So they aren't of the concentration camp variety and that probably does make a difference.
