Just started a new protocol for fat loss. Just wondering if this look okay, or if it should be tweaked at all:

3x/weekly

squat
bench press
sumo deadlift
clean and press
hanging leg raise (weighted)

protocol: perform 5 repetitions of each exercise in a superset fashion (i.e. squat for 5, then bench press for 5, etc...). Do this for 20 minutes. Count how many rounds of five have been completed and for what exercises.

Progression: trying to up the total amount of reps every workout. When an increase of 20% (or more) reps has been obtained, increase the weight.

Following Palumbo with this. Also fasted walking 7 days a week starting at thirty minutes than increasing by 15 minutes every week.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

start with light weights. no shame in it.

If you did bench as your first exercise,
you could complete the other 4 in power rack,
less walking between stations - more density

I love complexes for an ass kicking workout,
melts fat off. similar to what you're doing but you do 4-6 exercises
in succession without letting go of the bar.
example:
5 deadlift
5 bent row
5 power clean
5 front squat
5 overhead press
5 back squat
1 huge gasp for air

I love the 'without letting go of the bar'. When I did Dan John's 8-6-4 that was a concept he had in there, and I loved it! I like the program you posted and thanks for the tip on the bench press; I definitely think I may give it a shot.

Its basically circuit training...effective at burning calories bit not so much for retaining muscle. Cardio should start lower...20min every day...and increase 5-10 minutes only when fat loss stalls.

Thanks P. Question though. I was always under the assumption thsn'tat circuit training is the best training for fat loss. However from what you state I guess it isn't? What do you suggest? Should one simply focus on adding muscle? E.D.T. claims to work very well for hypertrophy and fat burning also. Just wondering your thoughts.

Thank you so much.
