So I bought this contraption in hopes of improving my bench and easing the strain on my shoulder after separating my shoulder and breaking my collarbone within 2.5 months of one another over winter.

I must say that this gimmick is not only completely useless to me in terms of reducing strain but it actually increases the pain in my shoulder joint and does not allow full range of motion as it feels like it was built for someone who is 5'6. I am 6'1 with a wingspan of roughly 74 inches and this thing is utterly horrific. I cant bring the bar down to my chest with 315 on it. Im sure if I loaded up 405 it might come close but what is the point if I cant move it because I am in so much pain.

DO NOT BUY THIS POS.

That is all.

On that note: Sling shot for sale - $20

I have an XL. From the dimensions on the site for my size this is what was recommended. How did you stretch this thing out? It feels like it could pull a tractor trailer.

I considered stretching it out but then that would defeat the purpose no?

I agree with Tex. The more you use it the better it works. I can easily get my bench over 400lbs with the sling shot.

Either way its just like everything else , if it doesn’t work for you that doesn't mean it's garbage or it wont work for others. I love it and continue to use it in order to over train my bench. But your not the first person I've heard say they don't like it.

For me I really like the fact that I can go heavy with zero shoulder pain. Have you ever used a bench shirt ? I find it's a lot like that and the first few times I used a shirt I hated it , but loved it at the same time. If I had a the proper training partner I would use my shirt more often, since I don't I use the SS.

Try doing pushups with it.

^^that was the first thing I tried. I cant even close to the floor. Either this thing is way too small for me or a manufacture defect? I dont get how an XL is that small. How would an actual big guy use this thing? Maybe its not a POS, but it is completely different than advertised and does not function even close to what I expected.

Huge let down for me considering I was expecting some huge help in resuming heavy benches now that my shoulder is back as good as it will get.

Not sure, but I also use an XL and I'm 6'1 240-245 . Works fine for me.

Usually I'll work up to 300lb bench , then put it on and continue up to 400 or whatever I get to - WOrks better with Heavier weight than light weight that's forsure.
