I have to buy a whole wardrobes worth of new dress clothes for my new job starting in May. I was thinking of going to Moores as they have a buy one get one free on till the end of next week. Anyone have any other places that has good deals for someone shopping on a budget?

Im aware that none of this stuff will fit properly. Ill have to wait to get it tailored when I have the money to do so.

Any input is appreciated.

Not sure if there is a Simons near you...awesome stuff at great prices but if you are bigger, not going to fit you....maybe post a pic in your best dress up outfit so we can critique you..lol

Im not even that big but im about 220 and my waist is probably 31. When I buy an XL dress shirt to fit my neck it looks like a boat sail. Pants also have to come huge to fit over my ass and quads and looks ridiculous around my waist. First world problems I suppose...

Are we talking full suits or just dress shirts and pants? Most quailty shops tailor suit for free. Moores does for sure.

Cheap stuff go to international clothers.

I just found some nice stuff at a Banana Republic outlet store, I bought 3 dress shirts and a pain of khakis for $150, I saved close to $100. The XXL are true XXL there and JUST fit, but I am very lean right now too and most shirts I am a 3XL. Pants, well good luck on those I have a hard time finding dress pants and jeans that fit ok without having to get them with a waist 4" too big. I luck out once in a while whithout having to get them butchered. These khakis fit nicely though, a bit snug in the thighs but its the style.

Do you ask for slim fit shirt ? The day I discovered that I was so happy! Even though you are bigger then me, I'm sure the corrections would be much easier on slim fit!

As for the rest, you better go for custom made suit IMO.

Unless the early 90's fashion comes back, when you could fit legs as big as your waist into the baggies pants/jeans and still be comfortable LOL! (it was a blessing in those time :D)

i find that Nautica brand dress shirts are made for larger people.. i can barely fit into a 17 1/2, but the Nautcal XL and XXL are good fits on the shoulder... the waist is a different story and will need to be tailored.

I dont need full suits just dress pants and tops. Im just sick of buying nice stuff that still looks ridiculous on me because its made for a super fat person, not someone in good shape.

You will notice a lot of the dress shirts/pants in the stores are ordered from over seas. Japan, Korea, China etc. As you will see the sizes are made small and will vary. The safest bet for you for dress pants, shirts. Go get everything measured up and fitted to your body from a tailor shop. Invest a couple hundred into a couple pairs of pants and shirts and you will be thankful after.
Because my built is too big for most dress pants and shirts as I have long limbs, i've spent too much money on brand name shirts were the sleeves don't even reach my wrists and pants that sit around my sock line. Good luck,.
