So I gotta spend 25-30 grand in order to save 2 grand? Doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

I'll keep the car I have now and let some other sucker pay for the depreciation of a brand new car.

Those are base prices. Try adding a few options, Freight & PDI, taxes...all of a sudden that $13,980.00 Honda fit is well over $20,000.00.

Are you kidding me? I got people saying to me all the time about how they wish they could get rid of their gas guzzler.

And today GM is closing the Oshawa truck plant along with the Envoy, Tahoe, and Suburban plants in Ohio, Tennasie, and Mexico.

Agreed. Many don't want gas guzzlers anymore, unless you are making a 6 figure salary. I'll stick to a tin can instead of giving all my money to the corporate giants.

The key to getting the Government to do something about the high gas prices isn't to buy a new vehicle IMO, it's to STOP buying new vehicles. The auto industry is a big driving force of the economy, if that was in danger I'm sure the American and Canadian Governments would step in and do something to get people to start buying new cars, like maybe lower the gas tax. The $2000 rebate is a joke IMO.

So everyone should boycott buying a new vehicle.

100% agreed. You can see food prices going up to make up for the fuel surcharge being added to them. Govts will act when poor people start to steal food from supermarkets to feed their families. These $5+ gas prices are gonna have serious consequences shortly, the govt needs to act NOW!
