no issue quite common...most likely you just nicked a small blood vessel.

Always Always aspirate. My wife does my HRT shots and has had blood come out when aspirating. The nurse that taught my wife to do my shots said it is rare to hit a vessel in the glute but has seen it.
Who remembers klloan and his misadventures?

I have never witnessed a nurse either at a clinic giving flu shots (delt IM) or in a hospital giving pain killers such as morphine or demerol (Glute IM) aspirate. Not saying thats good or bad just what I have witnessed.

praetorian your correct,i just read an article that states its not a common practice as it was 40 yrs ago to aspirate seems they taught this method way back when as a standard to nurses.now it seems the who and cdc does not think its required to aspirate in the majory 3 sites recommended for im shots ie vaccines ect considering no majory arteries to deal with.so basically its a 2 headed coin do it or dont do it.
Do all these compounds carry the same risk?Easy to aspirate, why skip it?

I agree, even getting my TRT at the CLSC clinic in Gatineau the nurses never aspirated. If I were to do them at home I would aspirate since it's quick and easy.

Lol...Let's say you aspirate and blood comes up, what's next ?
Push the blood back in and use another spot ??

Basically just remove, inject again in a different spot...aspirating again. To be honest I doubt many people really aspirate...and If you use delts or glutes odds are you dont have to. Put it this way...when you go to the hospital or clinic and receive a flu shot, or twinrix or have surgery and get a shot of demerol IM have you ever seen a nurse aspirate? I never have...and Ive had multiple surgeries and many shots of demerol, morphine etc just saying
