i was starting to get a little thick around the waist so i decided its time to do something about it.
i have been lifting for 25 yrs drugfree while working fulltime in construction all the while.
i recently became unemployed and put on a few lbs on top of the few inches i already didnt want around my waist.
i counted my calories over the 2 weeks prior to cleaning up my diet and its seems my basal calorie level is about 2400.
about 3wks ago i cleaned up my diet quite a bit and started 20 minutes of High intensity aerobics 3 times a week.
i started preparing all my own meals with not one processed or fastfood meal in this time.
i eat only free range local grown beef, those precooked chickens, canned fish, wild meat, unbattered fish, fresh veggies, fresh friuit, limited nuts and peanut butter and milk 5 times a week but only after workouts in prot shake.
no aspertame, almost no chocolate bars, no processed sugars or fruit drinks, no bread or pastas, no potatoes or rice, almost zero alchohol, very little salt, no dairy except in prot shakes, no butter or margerine

a typical days food would be prot shake right after workout for bf,completely homemade chicken soup with lots of meat no skin for dinner, big homemade fresh salad with chicken breast [tbsp of storebought dressing and 2 tbsp lemon juice] and skin for supper, lean wildmeat sausage and fruit for bedtime snack. and 3-4 fruit and raw carrots for snacks throughout the day. hard to estimate calories now that i make all my own meals but i do get rather full sometimes from all the bulk.

worked great first 10 days, lost about 7 lbs and 10 mm on the caliper at my bellybutton.
last ten days gained 2 lbs back, calipers still read same but fatloss seems to have stalled out.

probly only had a total of 5-6 cheat items/meals[1 large bowl of paenuts and 4 beer, dozen chocolate coffe beans over 4 wks]
how much more strict can i get?:help

In a word ALOT!!!! You are far from strict.

Your body will adapt to any diet this is why diets and cardio are never static...you need to force the body to change which means not allowing it to adapt...cardio should be increased in small amounts weekly or biweekly...fruit needs to be VERY limited, milk has to go. Sodium should be INCREASED not avoided. You also need balanced meals and to eat on a regular basis ie every 3 to 3.5 hrs about 5-6 meals daily.
A cheat meal is fine once per week.

ok would you recomend a serving of yams/sweet potatoes instead of 2 fruit per day? or what else?

I would eliminate any and all starchy carbs...and just use veggies and limited fruit as in berries only.

Definitely plan out how your daily meal plan is going to be like. Nothing too detailed or complicated but something easy for you to follow. Consistency is the key. I personally don't count calories but I care more about macronutrients and what stuff I do use as fuel.

Totally in agreement about leaving out milk.

Will take a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best, but in the long run, will give you the most consistent results.
