View Full Version : Hit Deadlift Max (490lbs), now what? High reps?

Hello,

I just maxed out at 490lbs for my deadlift. Could barely lock it out. I've been working up doing very low reps (8, 5, 1, 1 reps) and now I just completely hit a plateau.

I usually do 4 working sets for deadlifts and then 4 sets of glute/ham raises, plus other back exercises (pull ups, rows).


Just wondering what you would recommend? Higher reps now, other exercises. Thanks.

Try a real program like 5/3/1.

5/3/1 is a good program. Get the book for powerlifting ($20) and read it all the way through.

Then start it :)
