This is from Dr. Murray, Bowden and Feb 96, http://nbaf.com

Zinc is the unsung hero of the immune system, not to mention how important it is for sperm production. (Oysters got their undeserved reputation as an aphrodisiac because they're high in zinc.) It's also eaten up alive by stress. Take at least 15 mg a day, but 25-50 mg is better.

Testosterone, the most effective anabolic our bodies naturally produce, is
known to be closely interrelated with zinc. Although much study still needs
to be done, it appears that zinc, at the cellular level, may govern
testosterone metabolism. It is also thought to control the metabolism of
testosterone in the prostate, which is one of the organs most proliferant in
zinc.

A major indicator of this is in zinc's effects on male potency and sex
drive. Moderate deficiency can lead to regression of the sex glands in men,
and just a mild deficiency causes a low sperm count. (Zinc has been shown to
be useful in the prevention and treatment of male infertility.) Low zinc
levels are shown to lead to decreased sex drive, cause a loss of appetite
and even emotional problems. Double blind studies have shown that
supplemental zinc can increase blood levels of testosterone and the
follicle-stimulating hormone in men with just very mildly deficient zinc
levels -- and most people, when tested, are shown to be defficent. Trainers,
let me repeat, males, with just mild zinc deficiency, will increase their
plasma levels of testosterone with supplementation! This is a clearly proven
medical fact! For about 25 cents a week you can take what may be the most
powerful legal and natural 'anabolic' supplement.

Very little zinc is present in the 'modern' diet. Zinc is now almost non -
existent in crop land, so foods which use to contain high levels of zinc no
longer do.

Another aspect of zinc, important to trainers, is it's role in glucose
tolerance. Zinc is closely 'involved' with insulin. In test with rats, when
zinc is removed from their diet, glucose intolerance develops. In (human)
studies, of diabetics, it has been shown that many have problems absorbing
zinc, and over excrete it as well.

ZMA is great and it is mainly Magnesium and zinc. SNAC is an excellent company for ZMA production. To give you some deets on the over dosage of zinc read the following but remember the recommendation is 25-50 mg, personally I take 25 mg and reley on the diet and multi vitamin for the remainder.

What is the health risk of too much zinc?
Zinc toxicity has been seen in both acute and chronic forms. Intakes of 150 to 450 mg of zinc per day have been associated with low copper status, altered iron function, reduced immune function, and reduced levels of high-density lipoproteins (the good cholesterol) (34). One case report cited severe nausea and vomiting within 30 minutes after the person ingested four grams of zinc gluconate (570 mg elemental zinc) (35). In 2001 the National Academy of Sciences established tolerable upper levels (UL), the highest intake associated with no adverse health effects, for zinc for infants, children, and adults (2). The ULs do not apply to individuals who are receiving zinc for medical treatment, but it is important for such individuals to be under the care of a medical doctor who will monitor for adverse health effects. The 2001 Upper Levels for infants, children and adults are (2):

Note: Recommended dosage a day depends on your age. Check out Oprah.com

ZMA = garbage, the studies which showed improvement in test levels were done 10+ years ago and no one has been able to replicate the results nice

On the other hand, ZMA commercially is dirt cheap, and it can't really hurt you. You can even make it yourself. Zinc - 50mg, Magnesium-500mg, Vit B6-10mg.

If you're gonna go the PM test boost route, id stack ZMA with:

GABA - Helps you sleep "deeper". May actually help with GH production overnight, this is very debatlable tho.

Tribulus - we all know what this is. Make sure you get the extract tho! Tribustan brand is best but super expensive.

In my opinion, buying some 6oxo and using that will be way more beneficial than ZMA and GABA, but i do enjoy Tribustan very much.

I take 4x recommended dosage of tribustan before i go out to the bar, i become such a ****ign asshole girls love it. (Also, you can't drink alcohol cause you're basically shitting on the expensive supps you just ingested, but thats for another post.)

Gaba is useless in supplement form. Its does not cross the blood-brain barrier.

If you want to feel tired/relaxed phenibut does this much more efficiently.
