Hi CBB, do you guys know of any exercises with free weights that work the lats you can do while standing and not having a bench nearby to lie on.
My pen and notebook are standing by.
Thanks a mill.

the function of the lat is to adduct (draw towards center) and extend and rotate medially the arm. If you wish to remain upright then you must draw a weight behind you, as in a bent over dumbbell row. You do not have to bend over at 90, you could vary your stance and prop yourself against a wall or chair at about 120 degrees and row up and back. It's an option.
Why the free weight question? Are you limited in weights, room or benches?

Thanks for the info, I was just looking for some additional exercises. Barbell pullovers are my only exercise right now.

Thanks man. :rulz
Pull ups pronated grip works the lats
Chin ups supinated works the lower lats and rhomoids
Pronated rows works the rhomboids
neutral grip and supinated gip isolate the lats
arched rows isolate the lats, bend elbow 15 degrees and draw the elbow up behind you maintaining the bend
Pull overs isolate the lats- neuntral grip (palms face each other) safest on shoulder and best to isolate the lats use two dmb's
those are the main ones to do

Thank you sir, these are great.
If you dont have a bench the pullovers can be done the edge of your stair case so the DMB can go down further for full ROM. or on a swiss ball.
Oh ya your split should look like this, try it for about 3 weeks aiming for 12 sets per bodypart and superset agonist and antagonist pairing for a rep range of 9-12 reps, 3 second negative and pause in the bottom and explode up maximally contracting the working muscle.
Rhomboids (elbow abducted rows) and Chest and forearm
Quads and Hammies and calves
Lats (elbow adducted rows, pullovers, pull ups) and shoulders and forearm
Bi and tri and calves

Freebs - Tank is my good buddy, he's a wealth of info but I have to keep him grounded by bustin' his balls whenever I can.
Any questions I have, if I cant answer them, are directed to him.
