For those of you guys that do your cardio in the morning shortly after waking up when cutting, what is your macronutrient intake before and after the cardio? I plan on starting to cut down soon and would like to do my cardio in the morning and weights in the evening.

What Delt King is saying is to eat whatever it is you plan to have for Meal 1, after you finish your cardio and in MOST cases this includes carbs.

Yes of course. lol
I forgot to write "for me"...it's eggwhites. What is standard procedure for me may not be what's best for you though.
The point is get your morning cardio done on an empty stomach as soon as you get up...but don't get up and putter around for an hour then hit the cardio. Otherwise by the time you're done your cardio and get back home for your meal you'll be way too hungry and likely overeat or not stick to your plan.
Thankfully for me i have a recumbent bike set up 3 feet from my bed so i literally roll out of bed power up netflix and get to pedalling. lol

What about carb intake before bed? Would that make much of a difference?

I have carbs before bed when I'm bulking. Now you have me questioning this... Should I not have any before bed even when bulking?

Bulking and cutting are two different things. The original question had to do with cutting and timing of meals and morning cardio so that what was answered.
Now late carbs (or many carbs at all) even while bulking is debatable. Personally i prescribe to the yr round low carb theory...fat is the main variable to adjust. Protein is always high. While bulking...carbs might be higher than when cutting but it's never really high.

Would it not be beneficial to take in 5-10g BCAA before the cardio to avoid the catabolism in the morning? Especially when doing cardio?
I have my best success with cardio after weights. Your glycogen reserves are depleted from the weight training, so in my opinion.... fat burning starts sooner during cardio.

I just changed my schedule to train at 6am. Cardio 1/2 hr then weights, could I skip breakfast do cardio on an empty stomach, drive a pre wo (55g Whey Protein with 40g Waxy Maize) down my neck, lift have a a post wo (55g Whey Protein with 40g Waxy Maize) or eat 1/2 dozen eggs do cardio and follow my regular eating/supplement routine.

I would go for weight first then cardio, simply because you better use your glycogen for strength first then go into fat burning with cardio. If you burn your glycogen in cardio, you'll have a less productive weight training.

O.k. I will give it a shot cardio first. Will the above change in my meal rotation still be effective.

I find I have to piss to soon after taking BCAAs. I hear they're not very stable as they tend to degrade easily which might explain my need to piss. From my understanding peptides like hydrolyzed whey can be absorbed without digestion but are much more stable. (Note: alot of the hydrolyzed whey products throw in alot of free form amino acids and less of the peptides, so choose carefully)
Honestly though, I think catabolism is overrated (even if you're not on gear). When I do my cardio in the morning its also on an empty stomach. All types of cardio too, low or high intensity, intervals, etc. Just eat good the rest of the day and you're fine imo.

Morning cardio and PWO cardio are almost identical...both are technically fasted states. The type of cardio is determined by your diet...if you are eating carbs than higher intensity cardio can be used...if on keto then low intensity is used. The reason for this is because of the energy source used when doing higher intensity cardio changes...it now requires oxygen thus ketone bodies are not a quick enough source of energy as glucose is now part of the chemical equation. If high intensity cardio is used when on keto the body will convert amino acids (muscle) into glucose(because it is not available) to provide for the change in energy source. Thus muscle loss can occur. There are only two types of cardio that should really ever be used...very high intensity..ie sprinting/prowler etc or low intensity brisk walking.
