Hey Guys,

Have any of you read any good HRT books?

Since I started HRT I would like some good info about keeping Hematocrit, cholesterol, estrogen in check, etc...

There is some good info on the boards but I would like a book so I can show my doc, get more in depth info and hopefully it will be fully referenced.

Thanks!

Hi Andre,

This is a good start http://www.amazon.com/Testosterone-Guide--Second-Nelson-Vergel/dp/0966223128/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324063897&sr=8-1#

Also check out the Andrology Medical Journals. What were your lab numbers pre-trt? Are you on shots or gels?

If you have any questions PM me, been on TRT now for 1 year with HCG and Arimidex and have all the bloodwork done quarterly. The key is to have labs done often, not just placed on TRT and sent off on your way...

Regards...

Thanks Brawler I bought that book and "Testosterone for Life: Recharge Your Vitality, Sex Drive, Muscle Mass, and Overall Health" second book was only 11$ and so I figured why not. Once I start reading them I can put up a sort of review if anyone's interested.

First test I got 8.8 nmol/L.

Second test 4.6 nmol/L (range is 7.6 - 31.4) and Free test is 11.1 pmol/L (range is 31.0 - 94).

The doc wanted me to take androgel and I refused from the beginning and asked for shots, he has me on 200mg of test cyp every other week. I want to convince him to switch me to 100mg every week instead and to start doing more bloodwork, the books are to inform me and help me convince him with strong arguments towards the once per week dosing and checking estrogen, hematocrit, etc...

My doc is a urologist and doesn't seem to informed on TRT so hopefully this will help.

Brawler appears to be getting the best care ever posted here.

^^ why dont you get a referral to see a real endo?

I am seeing a urologist for fertility reasons. About 4-5 yrs ago my wife and I had been trying to conceive unsuccessfully for over 4 years after testing it was found there was a problem with my sperm morphology (shape) it was caused by a varicocele in my scrotum (like a varicoce vein) this urologist operated on me and 3 months later we conceived a child, my son will be 4 in 2 weeks.

We've been trying to conceive a second child for over 2 yrs without success, I went to see him again and the problem is back, he checked my hormones out of the blue and my test was very low so he recommended therapy and is still following me for fertility. He says at TRT dosages it shouldn't affect my sperm count too much, we are monitoring it every 2 months, he might operate again on the slight varicocele.

I am seeing him because he's a fertility specialist, if my wife gets pregant or we give up trying then I will transfer to an endo.
