Hey guys just thought i'd start a thread that we can share our ideas on bodybuilder friendly meals... oftentimes we get in a routine of preparing and eating the same things and ideas to spice up the daily meal plan is appreciated.

I'll start off...My breakfast the other day was an expiriment of sorts. I had a craving for pancakes as i was making some delicious ones for my kids. Now i'm staying away from carbs in the offseason so what's a guy to do? Well i simply mixed three scoops of my favourite 100% iso protein powder from CanadianProtein.com with a bit of water to make the same consistency of pancake batter and i fried it up in extra virgin coconut oil. It turned out looking exactly like traditional pancakes although not really fluffy. Now i didn't have any Walden Farms carb free syrup so i made my own topping consisting of organic fat free natural greek yogourt mixed with a packet of splenda and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and topped it off with a handfull of bran bud fiber cereal. (the topping kind of tastes like a peanut butter cheesecake). This was a fantastic breakfast providing nearly 80 grams of protein and low carb, moderate fat.

Add egg whites to the protein powder and youll have fluffy pancakes. Yu can get no sugar added syrup at the Metro in the regular syrup section.

Great breakfast for BB's=8oz steak + 3 whole eggs, with mushrooms and cheese...medium grapefruit for carbs.

i bought a tray of split chicken wings from the meat market, spread em out on a baking sheet cook for 25 min at 425, then smother in wing sauce of your choice, continue baking until desired crispyness 40-60min more

it should cost you less than 15 bucks for a huge tray of wings so its like less than 20 buck to feed your family too

My night time meal before bed is pancakes no carbs:

1tbsp coconut oil to coat pan with
1c egg whites
1scoop protein powder, I like Muscle Milk for these as it thickens them up and make them light/fluffy
1-2tbsp natural peanutbutter
pour Maple Syrup flavord LBA's over top.

OR this is sometimes my first & last meal of the day:

6oz ground turkey
2 whole free range eggs over easy
1tbsp coconut oil
hotsauce/sugar free ketchup
Sometimes I'll add some cheese to the mix

Here's a recipe i've been expirementing with in order to get something to make my burger with.
Carb free BUNS;

3 large eggs
pinch of cream of tartar (1/8 tsp)
3 ounces cream cheese (Do not soften)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Separate the eggs and add cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you're using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture). Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.

Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store in a loosely open sack and allow to rest on the counter before use (otherwise they might be too moist). Can be frozen.

Notes: If you are making these to be savory (for burgers) you can add dry mustard and dill or other seasonings to the yolk mixture. If you want a more sweet roll, add a very small amount of stevia natural sweetener to the yolk mixture.

For the eggs, you want to make sure they are around room temp before you start, around 30 minutes on the counter..
So basically take out the eggs, do your thing, and then start cooking after 30 minutes. Also, you want to make sure the bowl and the whisk you are using are clean and dry before you start, makes it way easier.

It will go from a wet state, to a semi-whipped state and then finally to a whipped state. You know you did it right when you move the bowl around and the whipped eggs don't move.

Makes about 6 carb free buns

When I feel to have a 'dessert' I like to take about 2 cups of iced blueberries or strawberries (I buy a lot of them in the season and freeze them) with about one or 2 cups of skim milk, I add stevia and blend everything! So I have either a smoothie with more milk or natural blueberry ice cream with no fat with no sugar added. It's really tasty and guilt free.

I had horse meat while I was in Quebec but have never been able to find it anywhere else. I actually really liked it. Every time I go to a butcher shop and ask about it, I get weird looks.

I make a smoothie similar to that. I only use 1 banana, and choc pb protein from CP, 1 cup of almond milk and a 1tbsp of natural pb. It is delicious. If I want some more carbs I will throw in 1/4c of oatmeal as well.

My other variation is using 1 c almond milk, scoop of vanilla protein, berries (oatmeal if i want carbs) and you can throw in some evoo or coconut oil for some fats.

As for eggs, I usually don't have much time in the am so if I'm looking for a way to spice up my eggs, I will just scramble them (usually 2 Omega 3 eggs and 3/4 cup whites) and top them with some low carb bbq sauce. Here is the recipe:

Found at http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lowcarb-recipe-help-suggestions/694106-best-bbq-sauce-i-have-ever-tasted.html
3/8 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup tomato sauce. (1 15 oz can) Don't buy a tomato sauce that has spices or flavorings in it!
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon yellow hot dog mustard
3/4 tablespoon Franks Hot Sauce (the chicken wing sauce)
3/4 tablespoon salt (optional)
1 dash cayenne pepper. Go easy!!!!
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
6 teaspoons Splenda or 18 drops of Liquid Splenda

Add vinegar and all other ingredients except mustard to a sauce pan and slowly heat. Put mustard in a cup and slowly stir in a couple tablespoons of sauce until well blended. Then add mustard mixture back to sauce in pan.

Bring to a boil, and lower heat. Let simmer for a few minutes. Let cool, then refrigerate.

Note: this sauce will taste a bit peculiar if you taste it when it is still hot. Don't worry! Something magical happens when it sits in the fridge.
