Hey all,

I've been googling this subject for days and haven't found any remedies worth trying. I am travelling in hot and humid south east asia and have experienced some extreme chafing in the groin area. I was over here before and experienced this and it never really healed until I got to the cooler climate of southern australia. I am desperately hoping that some of you big wheeled guys have experienced the same problem and might be able to shed some light. Really a shot in the dark here but kind of a last resort.

Currently I have about two weeks to kill just bumming around Vietnam and am not too fussed about being out of comission. However, in two weeks time I am meeting some friends in Bangkok and planning to party a lot over xmas and new years. There is also a fine young lady I will be meeting and she def wants my pork sword. We'll also be doing a lot of walking on beaches and stuff. So ya I'd really like to be healed up by then.

The main area affected is the part of the thighs that contacts the side of my scrote and the gooch area in general. Friction has made the skin very raw and it just won't heal. Sometimes it starts to heal and then the new healed layer will crack during movement. I am willing to give up all activity for as much as a week if that's what it will take. I neeeeeed this too be healed.

HELP!

I had something similar going on last summer. Turned out to be jock itch (a fungus) not letting the chaffed areas heal. Keeping the area dry and not walking around much helped a little but I had to work out side all week. I ended up making a salve from 2 tbsp coconut oil and 4-5 drops of oregano oil. After about a week of rubbing that on affected area twice a day it was gone. Both oils are anti-fungal and bacterial.

Nice, thanks thorgrim! I will give that a try.

If I were at home I'm sure a pharmacist could help. I've tried explaining the situation to three vietnamese pharmacists and none of them had a clue what I was talking about. I tried to take off my pants and show one, didn't go over well...

Thanks for all the tips guys. I've found a few similar products over here and they seem to be helping. It was pretty brutal chafing so apparently it's going to take it's sweet time healing. thanks again

if this is a continual problem goto a running store and get some anti-chafe it looks like a stick of deoderant you just apply it before cardio or in the morning or whenever
