World Problems Official Thread

I just watched this and thought it was short and easy to watch. I'd like to have an official thread for this (this one) were we can all discuss it and keep it in one place without taking away from the bodybuilding theme of the forum by have countless threads on it. I think a good bunch of you would add thoughtful insights and knowledge to this thread. Let's start it up.

Post carbon is a long way off yet.I worry more about destruction of the Amazon and what effect this will have.

Co2 will seem like a small problem if we end up with a major conflict over greed for Iranian oil.

In all honesty that video made me sick to my stomach... the way i see it is we as human beings are a disgusting animal set to destroy everything in our path. As much as I would love to see a big change in the way things are conducted as far as money and natural resources are concerned I honestly dont see any change in the near future as the popultion will continue to grow as will the need for food and natural resources . It is my beleif that something drastic such as entire countrys dying due to our actions need to happen before anything changes. All that being said I myself am not doing too much to assist in these changes I would like to see so therefore I am just as guilty......actually I am helping a little by recycling and also by not populating the earth anymore....Gotta love birth control (condoms)

true thinkers have environmental impacts on world problems pretty far down the totem pole compared to impact the economic and population health have on world problems.

Fix problems associated with distribution of wealth and population health and you're see a direct positive impact on the health of the environment.
