View Full Version : Well, my turn...

I'm cutting, and a have been for a while.

My story? Well, 5 and a half years ago I got married, and I weighed 234 on my wedding day. Came back from the honeymoon at 240. I got lazy, wuit lifting, and got fat. I mean real fat. I ballooned up to 265 within 6 months, and got a job as a mover. That kept me very active, but then I screwed my back up right before I was able to get my own truck. Still dealing with that pain to today, mostly sciatic type pain, and damage done to my right oblique that causes my lower back muscle to stress more than they should.

After injuring my back, I had to take a desk job. I soon balooned even more to 295.

My wife got me a gym membership trying to rekindle my old love, and it worked. But, with a desk job, and not knowing proper eating habits, as well as not really paying attention a much as I should have, I stayed between 295 and 275 up until last summer, when I decided it was time to take some real action. I started cutting and did great until we went to Oregon for a vacation and I fell of a horse, broke my wrist in 3 places, got back on the horse, and got thrown again 5 minutes later, only to damage my hips and get a good concussion.

Yes, I'm stubborn and have a high pain tolerance.

I was in a cast for 4 months after this, and was able to maintain my weight at 265 to 270 lbs with no activity. As soon as that cast came off as the end of January, it was open season.

I hit the gym at around 270lbs at 26% body fat, as well as started my first cycle a few weeks later. I've been doing a slow cut, as I feel better this way, and still experience some issues with my hips when doing a lot of cardio. Since then, I've gone down to about 19% body fat at 245 carb depleted (254 carbed up). I switched my diet back over the last few week to have carbs back in it, instead of being a CKD.

Over the summer, I'm looking to do a good recomposition, and get down to the 10% mark. A lot of things have happened over the last year that have impeded my progress, but one thing has changed. I no longer give up and quit when the going gets tough. Over the last 3 months, I've packed my old place, moved in with my inlaws and commuted to work, and now moved into my new condo which is 2 blocks from work.

I've got nothing standing in my way right now.

Here's a couple of old pics:

Rich was damn awesome. Really damn awesome. Just a down to earth guy, which is nice when you think of people that have competed at his level as well as own a supplement company.

And thanks for all the nice words guys, it helps. I'm currently completing a transformation challenge on the MD boards ending June 1st, so 1 more week left. Hopefully I've made enough improvements over the last 4 months to be worthy of finishing high enough.

I'm going to cruise for the next 6 to 8 weeks on 300mg/weeks Test E, and then do the following:

Weeks 1-2: 50mg Test P EOD
Weeks 1-12: Test E 350mg E4D
Weeks 1-10: Deca at 300mg/week
Weeks 9-14: Dbol at 25mg/day
Weeks 13-14: 50mg Test P EOD

I should be completely down by then, and decently ripped.

Don't get me wrong, I know AAS will not get me ripped. But, it sure helps keep me motivated.

I'll also be continuing with T3/Clen combo (T3 at 100mcg/day, clen 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at 100mcg/day). Diet is 2200 calories a day, 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat. Cardio will be 1 to 1.5 hours per day. Days off from weights (DC Training) will be 1 hour cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, and 30 minutes HIIT (fast walking with sprinting) in the evening. DC 3 to 4 days a week, EOD.

That's so cool to see and hear Matt, most pro BB'ers are so high on themselves, you can't even talk to them. Way to go Rich! :rulz

First let me say gongrats on the transfrmation and life decision to dedicate yourself.
Just a question about your history. Is this the first time in your life you have made this level of commitment and included the use os AAS?

I've made the commitment before, and done decently, but never made it stick. I'm good at sticking to my diet, and eating right, but something always seems to go wrong, and I end up getting back up there a bit. As well, I was at the point where I was 26 and a half, have always been a straight edge person, and had been researching AAS for about 2 years. I've been lifting since I was about 12.

As well, I could tell that after repeated cuts and never being able to make it stick that my test levels were declining a bit, and that adding in Test would allow me to maintain the muscle I had accrued but also allow me to drop almost exclusively fat.

And it's worked.

I've figured my body out a lot since last fall. I find that I plateau easily, and what I need to do is keep resetting my metabolic set point a little lower each time. When I start to cut, and cut very hard, the first few weeks will go great. And then as I get into the 4 to 6 week area, it dies off drastically, and there's no reason that should happen with the amount of body fat I did carry, and carry now. So, I now use that time of plateau to maintain my bodymass, fat loss, and muscle gains, stay there for 4 weeks, and then get lower. And it's working. My body has just been so used to being heavier and at a higher body fat that it is very reluctant to release body fat. Even on a CKD with T3 and clen, with cardio at up to 2 hours a day.... And no, things didn't start out like that.

great work youve def made good improvements. if you find your reaching sticking points in cutting could be your metabolism is slowing down. you should have regular cheat days this will help alot in boosting metabolism as well as mental state.once/ week eat a shitload of fatty sugarry junk .you will be amazed how much it helps

Did that as well. CKD is an awesome thing for the mind and body. :D

But, metabolism still slows down quickly. I'm going to see how I fair over the summer back on carbs. Should be interesting.

Actually, aside from the physical transformation of your body, you actually look like you've dropped 10-15yrs in your photos. You really have a more youthful appearance. Cool change.

Thanks guys. But the journey is just beginning. :)

FelineCougar, I appreciate the well wishes. I've got RazorRipped coaching me in my diet. He's calls me an idiot when he needs to, and helps me to continue to learn about everything. He posts a lot on the MD boards, and is an absolute genius when it comes to figuring out how to get a person ready for anything.

BigDaddy, you're right. I'm a different person altogether. I'm still weak at times, but I press on. As long as I keep taking steps forward physically and mentally, I'm progressing, and that's the end result for anyone who chooses to make that commitment.

DainBramaged (great name by the way), thanks. :) I had to go back and take a look at the pics to see what ones I had up there, but you're right. I don't know about 10 to 15 years, but I'll take that as a compliment. In fact, I'd love to go back 15 years ago and do it all over again, but do it right.

But, what's the fun in that, right? ;)
