I think I will stay away from aspartame, just because I will sleep better if I do, but is there one sweetener that is really THAT much better than the others? Stevia seems legit enough but is pricey compared to the other mainstream ones. Im looking for specific flavour packs that can be added to amino cocktails to make them tolerable as a means of saving money on pre workout drinks. I definitely notice a difference in performance when I use them and Im thinking of using a very similar one to that of the one Will Brink recommends for lifting.

What do you guys use and where do you get it? What flavours are best at overcoming strong amino tastes such as carnitine, BCAA's, and Arginine?

Thankssss boisssse! (Minnesota accent when you say it)

Lately I have been doing stevia. Not really sure how the cost is compared to other options. I would definitely stay away from aspartame. Lots of people have issues with it.

My homemade cocktail uses D-aspartic acid to make is sour and stevia to make it sweet. Definitely makes the BCAA's and other goodies more tolerable though it still tastes crappy.

Stevia - I only use half a pack when I mix into shaker with , BCAA etc .... If your saving on preworkouts buy yourself a box of packets from your local grocery store or health food store. Weider actually makes its own brand of Stevia.

Get stevia from Wal-Mart , much cheaper than any health food store.

^^ lol

thats what I mean. Ive used stevia sweetened proteins in the past without issues. The only stuff Ive used that I can remember that gave me the shits was maltitol. Different kind of sweetener but it does mess with my insides. I will try wal mart to see what they have. Anyone get theirs at costco? Is that better / cheaper?

When I am going for taste, I prefer Sucralose as an artificial sweetener, usually in the 90/10 ratio of Malto/Sucralose (Splenda). It doesn't have as much aftertaste as Acesulfame Potassium IMO. Lately, I have jumped on the Stevia bandwagon as well though, just incase the supposed rumors about artificial sweeteners containing carcinogens ever proves to be true. The Reb-A Stevia tastes night and day from the standard Stevioside if you can afford it.

http://goodandsweet.com/stevia.html has it online, but I am not sure what retailers are offering it locally in Canada?

I'm into stevia since a long time too, I'm using one in a liquid form made by Herbalselect that I buy from grocery stores in their natural product department. It's 9,99$ or less and it last pretty long for a liquid form. I use it with many things. I've tried other that were not as 'sweet' as this one.

I'm with everyone else. Stevia all the way! Quote: stevia extract rebaudioside A was approved as “a natural and no calorie sweetener safe for use in food and beverages.” Nuff said!
