While I was warming up my shoulders, the sudden sound of weight banging and clinging together made it impossible to stay focused. I had to stop and look around to see what was going on. There I saw this dude in the squat rack with a bar loaded with two plates on each side (225lbs) resting on his shoulders jumping up and down with his feet literally leaving the ground. I really didn’t know how to react… I just stood there in disbelief and watched him finishing his ‘set’.
I quickly got back to doing my things but I’m just curious how you guys would’ve reacted. Does that kind of stupidity deserves any help or is it just a lost case?
pics/video or it didn't happen ! :P

Not sure what kind of form the kid was using but done right jumping squats are a legitimate exercise. Not so much for body builders but for strength athletes. Can build a huge vertical leap and explosive power.

I agree, jumping squat are great but that was nothing close to it, he wasn't bending at all. It looked more like he was skipping with 225lbs pounding on every bone of his body.

That is just stupid then. Great way to hurt yourself.
When someone is doing something in the gym that I don't understand I usually ask them why they are doing it.

This sounds a lot like a jack ass I know. He makes up the stupidest exercises to try and impress people at the gym. He thinks he is huge because he wears a boys medium shirt and its tight on him...
I used to do jomp squats ass to ground for athletic reasons. If its not a full rom then thats just retarded.
Maybe it's retarded or maybe he has a purpose . If you came into my gym and seen that I had 700-800 lbs loaded on the bar to squat but I was only picking it up 2-3 inches before putting it back down you may think the same thing , but there would be a reason for it :)
