Hey Fitbody, it would be great if you balanced your BCABBA duties with your FitBody duties by posting up all the results instead of just your crew's results!

it's not my duties to post the shows results
i don't know all the competitors and nor do i have a competitors list
nor were the competitors listed in the program
i had 11 competitors in the show and i spray tanned 16 competitors by myself on friday twice each thatz 32 tans
along with being the athletes meeting an hr early to help with my vice pres duties an hr before the start of the meeting
and was there till after the meeting ended
along with today SUNDAY was at the AGM for the BCABBA
i have volunteered as the vice president i believe this is the 4th year in a row
i'm at EVERY SHOW helping out except some of the fort st john shows (too far and expensive a trip way up north flight over $500 drive over 12 hr)
along with having between 10 - 16 competitors in each show
i took 3 days off work to fly to Montreal to be the Athletes rep in Montreal for the world qualifier this yr
i spend alot of time answering emails and doing whatever is asked of me from the assoc
i have 3 threads on 3 sites for bcabba news etc
i put out posters at least 10 for every show at gyms, supp shops etc

oh yeah and i sponsor EVERY SHOW IN BC
yes that means i give money to every show for at least an ad in the program if not more ie: powerpoint etc, its whatever i can afford seeing i'm supporting a family of 3 off my income as a personal trainer / coach as i do not get paid from BCABBA btw

really.... are you a member of the BCABBA?
if so how much have you contributed ????
tell ya what... why don't you take on the job of keeping track of all the placings of each show and posting them

all you had to say was you only knew of those you were helping and no one else.

No need to build a power tripping, guilt tripping bunch of uselessness womanly jabbering.

no one cares what you do but thanks for posting the info you did post.

And a thank you also to fitfantik to for posting the vids. Always gives us a feel of how the shows are in BC and the competitors.

i ain't powertripping
and if anyones feeling guilty thatz there shit not mine

and as far as no one cares...
well if it wasn't for people like me volunteering, putting in their own time there would be no association
along with the fact i also bring lots of competitors to the shows
which means i bring lots to support BODYBUILDING IN BC
you maybe don't care but theres lots more that do

i'm actually having a flashback from the old "Pit" from rxmuscle that got oblitered lol

i wasnt at the show and am not a judge, but i dont see how the guy who came 2nd in the heavies didnt at least win his class if not the show... anyone who was there care to chime in about that? was he way off in prejudging? the light heavy looked to be perhaps more conditioned (from pics/video at least) but the heavy weight was by far the biggest stand out of the show to me at least. 2x more muscle than anyone else, shape, and actually a pair of legs

I thought he had it too, he was very soft from the back but overall I thought he had the better package. The guy that won all he had was big arms and shoulders. He had NO legs and NO back, I loved it when he turned to the back and strummed him hamstrings as if they were striated, lmao. He faded big time as he posed too.

Alot of odd things at the show that were well beyond the control of the Athletes and organizers that set the tone for the event.

The sound guy was a source of frustration and really created alot of tension which seemed to put alot of people on edge and when i say on edge i mean pissed off and loseing focus.

The sheer size of the event created its own set of circumstances available space, rushed timeing, people almost geting run over by the next person walking on plus other issues.
When your dealing with 170 odd athletes in various states of depletion anything can throw them off.

Its always Hard to wonder the what and why of the judges especially if it seems inconsistant and contradictory from class to class sometimes leaning towards the official standards and sometimes towards trends or other ???.
Some of the first five callouts were bizarre in manner and choice which of course caused alot of raised eybrows as did some of the final choices but in all fairness it they must have had a reason for it that wasnt easily seen by anybody else .

One can only keep telling themself that they the judges are seeing things that others are not and are being true to the position because at the end of the day what they decide no matter what the reasoning , is the only thing that counts.

I say congrats to all the people involved in the show from the participants that had the strength to step on stage and be judged by others , the behind the scenes people that put it together and the trainers that helped the athletes be the best they could.

What division was this based on? Must be fit/fit/bikini?

btw i contacted bcabba yesterday and i need to get the placings from the head judge
who i'd already fired an email off this am
about not only getting placings for this show but all shows in the future so i can forward them immediately
all someone had to do was ask "nicely" and i will always see what i can do

What did u see spent that caused you concern...I never watch bikini but did see the rest and thought the winners were chosen consistently...each class was down to the obvious 2 or 3 and from that, the winners looked like winners. There will always be situations where the final 2 may be reversed dependent on your opinion but I don't think there was anyone winning a class or overall who wasn't deserving.

In this day and age with electronic mail etc, I can't believe we don't have all the placings yet. Competitors not in the top 5 have no damn idea where they placed yet...maybe 6th..maybe 15th..brutal...shame on BCABBA

i emailed BCABBA
the score sheets have to come from the head judge who is Nadia Nardi
now really i thought YOU would be aware of Nadia & Chris' situation
we are lucky to have Nadia to be able to step up into Chris' HEAD JUDGE SHOES after the health issue Chris had
and recently he had a severe setback
the fact Nadia would even be there and travel from the Island over says alot to her committment to the association

to me as a competitor if i'm outta the top 5 who cares where i place really i'm out of what counts back to the drawing board lol

razorsedge
15-11-2011, 10:15 PM
I'm aware of the situation and have tons of compassion and understanding about that but it isn't a one person show and I am in no way bashing Nadia..lets make that crystal clear. Not one post in this thread says anything untoward about the judges or their job. There are senior judges that could have stepped up and looked after that or even executive...especially knowing the situation with Nadia and family.

And I'm totally aware that if you finish out of the top 5 it's back to work..but remember these are novice competitors and they just want to know and it frustrates them..and they are the future of the sport.

JonnyO

And I hope Chris is doing ok, not sure what most recently happened but hope he recovers quickly.

the lastest message i got last night while i was sleeping was: "Chris and Dia usually send the score out about now, but with Chris' situation we are not holding our breath"

I ASKED IF ALL THE OTHER ASSOC/PROVINCES POSTED IMMEDIATELY THEIR SHOWS SCORES HERE AND OTHER THAN 1 ASSOC THE ANSWER WAS NO

as far as placing 6 to 16th
usually you will have some idea according to your callout

as far as what frustrates novice competitors maybe they should be more involved in their association then
at the AGM the morning after the sat show at the contest hotel even with FREE BRUNCH PROVIDED there was probably only only about 40-45 people there at most
AND THERE WAS OVER 170 COMPETITORS IN THE SHOW BY THE WAY
and most were long timers including the executive and including a fEW IFBB PRO's who are long time helpers of the association but are no longer competing members
if you aren't involved, and you don't come to the meetings, and you don't use your voice to voice your concerns, they you have no reason to complain

fitbody
16-11-2011, 09:12 AM
i'm not sure how long Chris has been head judge but it has been a long time many years
we used to have the BCMUSCLE Site and Chris used to post scoresheets and answer questions spend huge time doing that
then they shut that site down it was too bad
then Dia took over for Chris when he had the Health scare earlier this year
Chris is again off work and again not very well at all
i'm sure alot of us don't even know what the protocol is for the score sheets/ results
and if anyone wants them posted immediately has anyone ever asked BCABBA ???
if so what was the reply?
instead of just bashing the association BCABBA why don't you ask them directly
posting comments on a forum isn't gonna get you anywhere

i heard a great speech from Paul Dillett one time wish i had taped it
it went something like....

"DON'T ASK THE JUDGES OR THE ASSOC FOR THE FEEDBACK OF HOW YOU CAN PLACE BETTER, ASK YOUR TRAINER !
AND TELL YOUR TRAINER TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST WITH YOU HOW YOU NEED TO IMPROVE
AND GET LOTS OF PICTURES AND HONESTLY ANALYZE THOSE PICTURES, TO COMPARISIONS & WHAT YOU NEED TO CHANGE"

no truer words than the above
when i get my competitors that say "how can i find out from the judges feedback"
i say "why why do you want to do that? i can tell you where you need to improve"
and if they don't listen and do it anyway they are still confused lol
one thing i'm known for is brutal honesty
i've lost clients because of it, but i don't care i'm not gonna sugar coat the truth
how is that gonna help them ? its not
most need a wakeup call

or they want the scoresheets
the scoresheets the placings aren't gonna tell you jack
it's not gonna say... great upper body your legs sucked
good from the front from that back uuuuuuuuggghhhh !!! yuck saggy butt
great body your posing was horrific you need to learn how to show of your physique to it's best
or whatever

it drives me crazy when competitors won't spend the money on stage photos
if you don't get photos how can you analyze your physique and see what you really looked like
and see where you need to improve
or even have a record of all your hard work and dedication
it's just bizarre to me
my pix are more important than any trophy any title
the record my history and i have the diets and training programs from each so i know this is what i did and this is the result i got
not to mention do you know how many competitors there are that file infront of the judges
and even if you send a pic or 2 to help them remember who you are its not like seeing it live and comparing you to the other competitors
cuz you can look pretty good alone but it's who was onstage with you that day and what they looked like that matters too

me i never wanted to be a judge no thank you
and i commend those who do that job it's a long hard day for them
me i like to train the competitors i'm a hands on kinda girl

Congrats Dawn on your team. I watched the show and personally i thought the judging was a bit off.. but i also only watched the night show

SWFC was the first bodybuilding contest I've ever watched. What a great contest to enter! I found it well-run, and the competitors were able to make do, dealing with the large amount of contestants and sound. It was fascinating to watch. It was fun visiting the sponsors' booths, I'd love to see even more next year!

Watching the show made me excited for my 2012 contest entry!

re judging: you can please some of the people some of the time... but you cannot please all of the people all of the time

plus... you can always be a judge

Yeah my hopes are to be on the other end of the judging table again. I don't think I'd enjoy being anymore of a judge then talking to myself from the back of the room haha

It's all the football :) No, she does look great and I know first hand she put a TON of effort into this (and took some heat too in the lean down) so hats off to her for sure. Now if I can only get my own butt in gear...

The Fitbody Team took home the hardware! Dawn Alison and the rest of the BCABBA did an EXCELLENT job putting on this show! It was run very smoothly and efficiently, for the amount of competitors that were involved (biggest in BC....)

Great! Guess I'll have to pass on it this year. Hahaha j/k I have no intentions of competing right now, I am a work in progress I guess you could call it.
