Yes. We bought several machines one year ago (Multi-station, jungle gym, assisted smith machine (you can curl on the smith...). The cables are made very cheap. Not for commercial use at all. We needed change all the cables after 2 months of usage. This is not normal. We ordered Atlantis cables for all the pulleys and they are still in good shape since 8-9 months. Rest is good. But I can tell you that it wont last more than 10 years...

That's the equipment they replaced with at Gym Max in Gatineau. So for I've been liking them but they do feel really different than the other machines. Totally true about the cables, they don't feel tough and you can definitely feel too much extention in them when the weight transfer happens. Personnaly I was a bigger fan of "Hammer Strenght" equipment. Really don't like Atlantis, I find they don't work well for shorter people.

Can't say. We picked the Cybex eagle line for the rest of the equipments.

is that good or bad. The only problem is this is my only selection here in Ontario, there is a Rep for the said company that lives in my city.

mainstream means that it looks nice and that its for mainstream members. 1-2 times per week who never put on strength so the machines dont really have to be tested to their full capacity which is probably why the cables suck. Why dont you have access to other product lines?

don't have access to other product lines... just the one big main rep here in my city who sells that. So ya , if I had other options here in Ontario, then I would check them out....but don't have any ins so to speak/contacts to do so.

so what would you do if their products were complete crap and absolutely no one would use them would your hands still be tied on choosing another product line

You should look for refurbished machines. This how we got all our new machines for the gym. It's a company who buy equipments of gyms who went out of business. They refurbished everything (new paint, bearings, bushings...). It's usually 1 to 5 years old. You can expect 50% off of the regular price. It's in Quebec city. But I'm sure there is many places like that around Canada if you look into it.

Gym I go to has all the hoist machines and free weights as well. It is great equipment, I use it 5 days a week and haven't noticed any real wear, been there 3 years. The machines are underweighted big time. If you lift heavy you will have to add plates to the stacks. Other than that it is very good and very smooth equipment.
