Hey P,

Are dark green veggies such as broccoli, green beans aloud on Keto diet? I know there is a salad for supper, but if I have veggies with 3 meals is that going to keep me from being in a strong ketogenic state?

Thanks P you're the man

Yes you can have green veggies...just measure them out...1 cup chopped instead of the salad.

you need to read a book or a website about keto diet, those foods you mentioned are on just about every keto food list. do some groundwork for you own benefit

I asked P if I could eat it with more than the one meal. If you look at the dave P outline of his diet, veggies really are only stated in the supper meal.

you need to read more than a dave Palumbo diet outline to understand the keto diet grab an ebook of Lyle McDonalds Ketogenic Diet or Dr. M. Pasquale and his Anabolic diet book. These are two excellent resources for you during your diet. Yes Dave P only states those veggies in one meal but if you have a greater understanding of the diet you will know that you can eat quite a lot of green vegetables without getting out of ketosis. Remember that dave's diet is a version of a CKD diet transformed into what he believes to be the most efficient version of that CKD for people trying to lose fat percentages down to a very low BF%. Im not being rude bud, Im just saying that before you venture down this road you should do some research so you arent constantly checking if this or that food is ok etc. If you dont do this you will most likely get mediocre results on the diet and will get frustrated. So I'm not trying to be rude or mean but if you dont know something like you posted above you need to do some more research.

Thanks jack and I didnt take it as being rude. Thats a problem with no facial expression with a post. I have used a keto diet for a show prep in the past, but I have changed it around a bit and just wanted to get P's take on it.

Thanks again fellas

You have to be careful with veggies on keto....most people miss alot of carbs found in foods such as eggs, nut butters, nuts, etc...they can add up quickly an easily kick you out of ketosis. Also be wary of some keto diets which contain too much fat and will work for a bit but you will stagnate easily. Lyle's book is great however a CKD diet isnt necessary if training for a show and will generally slow fat loss...he also states that you can only train a few days on keto which is incorrect. The best idea is to have many sources of information and use common sense as well as speak to those who have physically run the diets many times and have had success.
Many people will tell you keto diets are "extreme" when this is exactly the opposite of what they are....low carb low fat or traditional carb cycling diets are much more extreme because they go against what we as humans naturally have eaten for thousands of years.

Ya my carbs are below 10% of total calories. It's a total of 30-35g/ day and most of that is fiber which cannot be absorbed by the human body...due to use lacking the enzymes to break down cellulose.
