I am sure that this has been discussed before but i was just wondering if you all want to share with me your thoughts and experiences on which is the most effective joint supplement stack. I've been back training for just over a month now and my strength is coming back very fast. That said, my left shoulder is starting to feel the pressure and i am concerned about other joints problems in the future.
At this time i am taking the old Allmax Allflex formula which contains Cissus, Glucosmine, Chondroitan and MSM... not really feeling the benefits as of yet. Maybe i need to take a higher dose? Or maybe there is a better stack or supplement i could take?
Thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
As I suffer from relatively painful aches and stiffness, and I have for most of the last 5 years or so, I have never found any supplement that has even remotely alleviated any joint pain or other issue. I wish there was something one could take OTC that actually made any difference

did you tried adequan?
Adequan
Chemical Name: Polysulfated Glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG)
Drug Class: Injury Repair Agent
Adequan is a water based injectable which has been available for a long time for the purposes of joint repair, but never really caught on in the bodybuilding world. In the world of athletics, it was rumored that a very good international rugby team (with a low injury rate) were using loads of Adequan. This seemed to make sense, because while it was not approved at that time for human use, the country that team was from had a very big market for horse racing…and that’s what Adequan was originally used for- repairing joint injuries for injured racehorses. Aflutop, another joint remedy, is more widely available and has recently replaced Adequan on the underground market, for the most part- but that doesn’t mean that Adequan isn’t worth looking into.
Although Adequan works well to improve traumatic joint injuries, it seems much better at improving degenerative or long term, joint problems. It works well enough for either, though. When we look at treating joint problems, a lot of times we immediately look to NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory stuff like aspirin, etc...) to be used in conjunction with physical therapy, but that’s not the optimal treatment according to current research. Although the aspirin (or other NSAID) will help with pain, it could delay the recovery time. Adequan doesn’t and actually helps to improve range of motion and flexion as well as being able to increase synovial fluid. In all treated subjects in test-studies, Adequan improved their joint injuries.
When recovering from an injury, in one study, a side effect of Adequan was that IM administration of 500mgs E4D for 12 weeks produced a 13.5% increase in bodyweight! Whether that was a “true” anabolic effect, or just increased weight gained by recovering from an injury- is unclear.
A reasonable protocol for joint recovery using Adequan is 125mgs, via intramuscular injection near the affected joint, every 4 days should suffice. This protocol should be followed for at least 28 days or longer.

Never tried Adequan so can't comment on it. The only way I was able to repair connective tissue was with some time off. Glucosmine, Chondroitan and MSM did nothing for me no matter how long or how much I did. If nothing else works, I would suggest either going lighter on weights or some time off.

You should ditch the glucosamine. It worsen insulin resistance. Your best bets are fish oil (1000mg+ of EPA/day) and 2g of msm. But nothing work better than hgh to repair connective tissues. When you go way pass your natural limit, your connective tissues wont be able to hold on you. Take a week or 2 to heal! 2-4iu is enough.

I did not know about glucosamine effecting insulin resistance. Do you have any studies you can post regarding that?
I take 10grams of fish oil (omega 3's) per day but may increase the amount to 12-15 grams.

Oh ya, it's a vet drug... i totally forgot about that. Still though probably hard to come by and who knows what kind of side effects it could have on humans.

Not an option at this point in time for me boss. I only have a short window of time to bulk before i start cutting in Jan/Feb.... i've got to make the most of this time. That said, i will be extra cautious, making sure i am fully warmed up and my joints are good and lubed with blood before hitting the working sets.
I think ScorpioChiq,Prae's better half knows a fair bit about that stuff.

no lol
There's Aflutop for human, but it wont do much for your tendons. Good for joint/arthritis.
Personally, I've passed my natural limit a long time ago. I'm just too strong for my tendons. I need to be very careful. Best thing I should do is incorporate gh while I'm building mass. 7-8weeks after training heavy, my tendons are taking a beating. Tried everything... Slow negative... reps of 10-12 instead of 6-8. Doesn't change anything. I'm getting too strong too fast. 2-4iu is enough to repair tendons. All of my buddies who incorporated gh, 5-7 days after, their tendons are healed and they never stopped training. One of them couldn't do any pressing movement because his shoulders were done. Started gh at 2iu/ed and 5 days later, he was 100%.
I'm still too young for gh. I wait till I'm 30 or so

Has anyone tried high dose cissus? Like 6-7 grams a day? I've also read that it has some anabolic properties at the higher doses. Although I am not really sure how much of that is people hyping it so they can sell their product.

DMSO is good for pain but it's actually meant for racing horses... and one of the worst side effects of it is that it gives you this nasty garlic breath... ugh
OP, you probably don't want to hear it but take some time off from your regular training and focus on those muscles that may be getting neglected:
overhead presses
dumbbell external rotations
trap 3-raises
finding an ART practitioner might be a good idea too... Look for a permanent fix not a nutritional solution!
