I tried one of these today for a set,it seems to be inherently more comfortable, although the grip was slightly narrow.Who has used one on a regular basis?

Yeah I like it, especially on spyder/preacher curl. Very good! Or triceps laying extension ( less tension in your joint than straight bar, more simulation!)

There's a few versions of this, short one for arms, wide one for chest, shoulders, back... Fat grip version too

Something like that, less options on the grip with one angled grip.

I feel like this could help push through benching plateaus without causing undue stress on the shoulder. I have never actually seen one of these in a gym however.

It's a nice toy but it doesn't really replace bench press with proper form as the right exercise for the job. If I was a welder I'd probably make one but I don't think I'd spend money on it.

I have been looking at this one for a while to simulate a Log Press but for cheaper for my home gym.

It was actually 20$ cheaper and just went up http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?m=PD&cid=114&pid=2468

The last time I checked elitefts shipping to canada was pretty darn painful. (UPS).

Might be easier and cheaper to find a welder on kijiji and have him weld you up a training log.

Welders around here are charging 350-500$ depending on the weight and quality of the log.

That's what you're going to pay for the 279$ bar shipped from elitefts to canada. May as well get the welder to make you exactly what you want. If you go to a welder doing side jobs your labour cost is going to drop lower than going to a shop. If you go to the scrap yard and pick up your own steel you can do better.

All in you are still 350-500 but you can have an awfully nice training log.
