40 yo male 5 11 195 12%bf

Tested during this past week after not working out seriously for 3 months.

Deadlift = 300Lb
Bench press = 240X2
Shoulder Press = 135X2
Front Squat = 240X1

I have never worked out to develop pure strength for more than 3 months.

My feet and lower leg are ****ed so my Front squat is pathetic.

But overall how is my strength?

I am trying to define goals for my next year.

Tomorrow I start a Wendler 5/3/1 (BBB)

Your strength is ok...but not fantastic and that really doesnt matter a whole lot...what matters is where you go from here!

Thanks for your reply.

I have been exercising since the beginning of the year, it is time for me to start training. I decided to train to get stronger adn just wanted to know where I am starting from.

Your input is appreciated.

How high have those numbers been in the past and how long ago where they that high ?

If your deadlift was 400lbs ( for example ) 3 months ago then it wont take long for it to get there again.

If they were much higher then I would almost take a month to try and get it back and then do the 5/3/1 program.

Do you have anything against the back squat ? Just wondering why the front squat .

I actually don't know for sure as I never worked seriously towards strength.

My BP was 265 X 1 once and I have Box Squatted 300X3.

I am front squatting because I hope that Deadlifting and Glute Ham raise will be enough for my posterior chain.

Next work out I want to make Front squat and Pistols in order to get strong and stable as well.

Oh yes, Pull ups and Chin ups tons of them
