Life in a hotel

I just said yes to a new job and will be moving in the next couple of weeks. When I get there, I'll be in a hotel for a while. I'd like to NOT live on fast food for that time so, any tips on how to keep the diet in check with no way to cook or refrigerate stuff? Or, will I be living on protein powder, oatmeal and tuna? ;)

Also, any good/bad gyms in North Bay?

Buy a george foreman and hot plate

You can get a pretty decent size cooler that you can plug in and basically turns into a fridge. cheap microwaves at walmart. hotplate, foreman grill. gotta get a little creative but not the end of the world at all.

maybe consider intermittent fasting til you get settled in.
fast during the day, then hit the all-you-can-eat-buffet in the evening for your daily feed
makes it super easy. most decent buffets have a carving station
with roast beef etc, some kind of seafood or fish, and veggies.

otherwise i'd by a 99$ mini-fridge.

A lot of restaurants will actually make foods to your specifications if you ask nicely, I do it everywhere while Im workin out of town, which I do pretty much 70+% of the time. Tho as posted above, its cheaper to just buy what you need and make yourself at home in your room

Because I'm cheap and poor! haha....and the new gig is setting me up in the hotel. I'm kind of "stuck" with what they give me...having said that, I like the idea of a little hot plate. I think there should be a mini fridge there so, I'll try to avoid buying my own.

I'm going to try to avoid restaurants as much as I can...as I said..cheap and poor! As long as I don't catch shit for having a hot plate...I should be fine!

Exactly...get one to store everything in...buy a cheap microwave from Canadian Tire or Walmart for for $54.99, grab a George Foreman grill on sale at Canadian Tire now for $14.99, and grab a cheap blender from Canadian Tire for $29.99 and you are good to go. You can do eggs (poached) and oatmeal in the microwave, chicken, fish, burgers, steak all on the Foreman grill, and store milk, butter, eggs, fruit, veggies, meat etc in the cooler.

I work 3 weeks out of the month in the US and Whole Food store is all I need. I think they have some of those store here in Canada check it out
