I'm new to CBB, great site very helpful! What type of forearm work do you guys do (if any). I have trouble with exercises like dumb presses (chest/shoulder etc...) because my forearms give out before the muscle im working. Also I saw a reply to a post claiming you can cut of the flow of blood to your forearms causing them to swell, the more you do it the thicker they will get, do you think theres any merrit to this? Sounds weird to me......:)thanks!!!

Lots of Deadlifts, Chins without strapps will do the trick. Suck up the pain for the time being. Also some gymnastic chalk can help out. Use a big fat bar for a few weeks and progress to a smaller bar, if you dont have a fat bar wrapp hockey tap around your hand area on the bar and strip it off after a few weeks.

Inbetween you can do isometrics. Pinch plates together and hold for 12-20 seconds start with 3-5 5lb plates then prgress to 10lb plates. Also hex dumbell holds wrapp the hand around the end of the bell and hold but dont touch the imprinted number grooves. Do that after workouts every second day for a total of about 5 sets should be suffice. Once you can hit 20 seconds increment the weight up which should be every third work out or so.

As for restricting blood flow to induce growth it is beyond me. Hypoxia can lead to hypertrophy but I will have to look into that. Maybe try it with your third knee to see if it works then try your forearm, if it works you will make a fortune with that innovation.

I do hammer curls, and the thing with a cut up hockey stick/broom with a rope and a weight tied to the end. Not a clue what the hell you'd call that.

Personally I've found that just stopping to use straps was enough to cause growth for me. I don't do any forearm training anymore......it just never worked for me.

I find a really effective excercise for pure strenght is static holds. Grab a pair of 105lb DB's, sit on the stool, and just do a static hold while squeezing the handles and flexing your forearms as long as possible.
My last time on the first set was 52 seconds. I strip the 2nd and 3rd sets by grabbing a 75-80lbs in each hand and doing another static hold immediately after faliure with the 105's.

I'm going to incorporate some reverse cable curls to get some mass in the near future.

Recently been getting some soreness running between the radius and the ulna, so i had to stop since i didn't want to get injured and not be able to do curls.

Am i the only one who thought it was TOO badass when Stallone ripped out the dude's throat in the new Rambo?!? one day...

Lately, I've been doing behind the back wrist curls with a barbell - verses seated with your arms on your thighs. You get a real pump done this way.
