I had it done intra-articularly in each elbow for arthritis and didn't notice much because my BP is already high (on meds for it). It can cause serious fluid retention though which sounds like what you're experiencing so keep a close eye on your BP. On a side note, those shots hurt like a biatch!

Got this in my ankle when i was 5 (was put out so i cannot vouch the pain), my ankle swelled up and i could not walk on it for a month. This was the "do all to end all" and i remember very clearly the doctor asking me before i had it done "are you ready to get rid of your arthritis" it did quite the opposite though.. I was in more pain, in more joints, more often.

Lol yup, after an xray, MRI and CAT scan the doctor said to me there is nothing I could do but try a 'steroid injection' (I was 13). It just hurt, felt like shit and then I got surgery to clean bone fragments, scar tissue and some bone spurs in my right elbow joint out a few months later. It didn't cause those issues that's just arthritis for ya but it didn't make it any better, never again will I get a cortisone shot.

haha yeah... its sad that the professionals have no idea wtf they are doing... The only thing that has EVER helped me is my biking, consistent, low impact, structured cardio is the only that that helps even when i am in ALOT of pain. I f find you really have to keep your body in motion or it just just goes to crap. Haha and when i was nine they started giving me kemo therapy related treatments.. i guess they figured i was a lost cause so lets kill whats left...

Cortisone will cause an increase in salt and water retention hence high blood pressure...increase your water intake and lower your carbohydrate intake to manage water levels.
