Hey P,

In your opinion is this drug (metformin) at all useful for bodybuilding purposes?

If so how would you include it in either a weight loss and then weight gain diet.

I am curently dieting on 600mgs of test but was thinking of adding in t3 and metformin for the end of my diet and then continuing with them both for my subsequent off season diet at the end of the month while bumping my test up to 1 gram a week.

Thank-you

I should add that I am dieting on approximately 400 grams of protein, 100 grams of carbs mostly pre and post workout and 100 grams of fat

Metformin is used by type 2 diabetics because it assists with insulin resistance...it basically makes the cells more sensitive to insulin so you dont need as much to do the job and it works more efficiently.
It would not help when dieting much but it can help when carb loading or if having a large carb meal refeed.

OK thank-you. I had just read something about it being able to help maintain or bring a person back down to ketogenesis while dieting a little quicke/easier. I will try it out on my next refeed day.

Sorry but what you heard is incorrect...the idea of using insulin or metformin to help enter ketosis more rapidly does not work...met wouldnt help in that scenario at all and insulin would push glucose from the bloodstream but the majority of glycogen would not be affected because it resides in the muscle...you need 72 hours to get into ketosis once you drop your carbs...after a cheat meal about 8 hours.
